Has anyone tried running Triton Speakers with Hypex Ncore amps?
They are supposed to be extremely good class D amps.

Hi

I have an AT525NC 5 channel amp driving the T Ref fronts, T1 surrounds and SuperCenter Ref.
It uses the Hypex NCore technology. Love it. Smooth , sweet, detailed, dynamics galore.

Hi bonepeeler,

I'm driving my TRefs with two Bel Canto Ref600M monoblock amps. According to the Stereophile review (you can find it online), these amps use Hypex NCore modules.

The sound is fantastic. These amps put out 600 W into 4 Ohms and can easily handle the near 3 ohm impedance dip in the TRefs. The amps have never run out of steam, at least in my 20 x 15 x 10 ft room. The sound is smooth, clean, and detailed, with plenty of bottom end power. (Yes, the TRefs have sub amps, but the power amps still have to supply the signal.)

That said, any system is the sum of all its parts, and while the amps are great, I also have a regenerator, very good cabling, and a great streamer. The DAC/Pre is a DSPeaker Anti-Mode X4, which I have dialed in to produce a flat room response at the listening position.

The current June issue of Stereophile has a review of the new Bel Canto e1X stereo amp that also uses NCore technology. At 500 W into 4 ohms, it is rated a little lower than the REF600M amps, and it is more expensive. But if you're curious, you might take a look at the review. Many of the e1X specifications are the same as mine.

If you can afford them, the Bel Cantos are excellent, and you would be able to rest assured that they won't be the weak link in your Triton signal chain!

First of all, thanks to both rjohn79395 and Charlie for your replies.

Why I asked regarding Hypex Ncore.
The thing is I have already ordered a Hypex Ncore amp.
It will be using exactly what the Bel Canto Ref600M has, Hypex Ncore500 modules.

The main difference is that my amp will be a six channel amp with six Hypex Ncore500 modules.
It is being built by the Hypex's distributor in Greece.
The big difference will be the price. The 6 channel costs about 2000 USD.
I am really happy that a made a good choice even if I've never heard before an Ncore based amp.
It seems that in our age, class D amps are the way to go.

Thanks to both of you.

Bonepeeler, I totally agree...it seems that in our age, class D amps are the way to go.
I'm running a pair of D-Sonic M3A-600M Mono's with Pascal X-Pro modules. 800 w/8 ohms, 1350 w/4 ohms. The D Sonics are the best amps I've ever owned. These amps have Unbelievable power, plus floor shaking bass and airy highs, no matter how high they're Cranked. I can't imagine how they could be bettered.

Enjoy your 6-channel amp with Hypex Ncore 500 modules .
Let us know how they sound. I'll bet you will be a Class D fan when all is said and done.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!
