Wayne,
Yea it was a huge project, $5.5 million. Thanks.

Your right on, so much of what we listen to is run by a computer. Hope that works. So how old is your EMO?

WOW Del, that is a huge project, and you are obviously an honest, able and dependable person that they would trust you to do that!!!!
Well done!!!! I would love to look if you want to share any pics?
My XMC-1 is likely 5 years old now, not sure, seems like 1 but time does fly.
So far so good after the reboot.
We'll see.
God Bless,
Wayne

That garbled chipmunk sound is back.
No, the hard reset did not get rid of it.
No, posting on Emo forum did not get any help at all.
Next move will likely be emailing or calling Emotiva. Calling is a hassle because of the huge time difference. So will try an email first.
The good news is that it is not getting worse and can be sorted by a simple change of inputs, and then going back to the input I want, so far that has fixed it every time.
God Bless,
Wayne

I have written to Emotiva service for help. Will see what they say.

While on their site I was checking out info on their newest, latest, greatest processor the RMC-1 coming soon.
Not sure when that will be but they say soon, no price yet.
To the point of my title here about the BEST processor, Del may have already pointed it out with the McIntosh, outta my price range.
This one coming from Emotiva will be 16 channel, specializing in Atmos and DTS X of course. Which I have no desire for.
But it uses the AKM 4490 Verita DAC. Does anyone know anything about this DAC? Have any experience with it?
Thanks for any help,
God Bless,
Wayne

Hi, Wayne

From the "whatever it's worth" side,

AKM has made a name for itself with their fairly new Velvet Sound DAC series. My Marantz 3 year old SR 7010 has the AK 4458, as does the Anthem MRX 1120 I've been thinking about. The newest high end DAC they have introduced is the AK 4490. The new Emotiva is supposed to have that, as does the newest Marantz AV8805 Pre.

Whatever we don't like about Marantz collectively relates more now to their use of Audyssey than the DAC's they install in their high end gear, I think. (Still don't get why Audyssey is as popular outside of GEt users. Maybe it relates some to Triton powered towers, and Audyssey can't figure out to set sub and large in the same speaker?? ? Frankly don't know.).

I'm not sure what DAC your Emo XMC-1 has, maybe a Burr Brown? All I can say about AKM's newer generation of Velvet Sound DAC's is that they really do play with a sweet, musical sound. In fact, when that new 16(?!) channel, Atmos and DTS:X ready model comes out, I'll be VERY interested!

Happy listening!
