Greetings,

I just finished the construction of my home theatre room. I am planning on buying the following for my 7.1.2 setup:

(L/R) Triton Two+
(C) SuperCenter XXL
(LS/RS) Invisa MPX
(Rear Surround + HEIGHT/ATMOS) Invisa HTR 7000

I'm just wondering if the SuperSat series would make better surrounds?

Also, the Triton Two+ only have one pair of speaker terminals. Is there a way to safely BI-AMP these speakers?

Regards,

Paul

Hi Paul and welcome here!!!! Sounds like you are putting together a terrific home theater!!!! I believe you will love it.
There is no need to Bi Amp your T 2+s. It would not accomplish a thing. BUT what you can do is attach your normal speaker cables to the terminals, and ALSO attach an IC cord from your sub out to the LFE connector on the towers and dial in the bass you want, somewhere around 9--12. Set them up properly in your system, receiver/processor and there you go, plenty of bass when called for and it takes the load off the mid/tweeter speakers, so very much like you had bi amped the speakers.
I know that is a short answer, but you can read LOTS more here on the forum which will explain the advantages more clearly.
And if you have any more questions, this is the place.
Like your SuperSats question, I will leave that to someone more qualified.
Enjoy getting it all together, it will be GREAT!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne

Wayne,

I was interested in bi-amping the Triton Two + to give them more power. My amp (Emotiva XPA Gen 3 Seven) is rated at 200 wpc and I was hoping to double it to 400 wpc. I'm thinking 200 may be sufficient but I was just curious if it could be done.

Regards,

Paul

Gotcha Paul!!!
That Emo amp should be a good one and has PLENTY of power!
If you just hook up the LFE input as I suggested, then you will have 200 wpc running only the mid range and tweeter. That is TONS,
LOTS, a whole bunch. There are quite a few folks running these speakers on 25 wpc or so.
Don't worry, you will be good!!
Happy listening,
God Bless,
Wayne

Hi, Paul

As Wayne has said so well, the T2+'s internal amp handles powering the bass section, and for ALL bass below about 120 HZ, whether from LFE or any other source. So in my mind that built in amp in the powered Tritons IS the second, or built-in "bi-amp", in a sense. Your external amp only has to power the mid range and treble, and 200 wpc should be more than adequate for anything sonically you want to throw at those capable speakers.

I like the set-up as you describe it! I'll let others comment on whether Supersats would do differently, but my personal preference would be as you have specified. Something to think about: depending on your room depth, a second pair of HTR 7000 heights just might give you more bang for your buck than rear surrounds, unless your room is REALLY deep.

You are definitely looking at some quality speakers! I suspect you're going to love your system!!!

Your emotiva xpa gen 3 seven channel @200 wpc will make the T2+’s sing, no need to bi-amp. Seriously, just hook them up and have a listen, I’m sure you’ll agree.
Triton Two front L/R
SuperSat 50c center
Triton Seven surround L/R
SuperSat 50 surround rear L/R
AVR Arcam AVR-21
Amp Marantz mm7025
Velodyne optimum 10” sealed, back left corner
SuperSub X front-right corner
