Im looking at putting together a new 7.1 system, Ive settled on picking up the new Triton reference for my L/R, SuperCenter XXL, but im not sure what the best surrounds would be.

I was thinking I could get a pair of T2+ for the rear surrounds, and a pair of Super Sat 60s for the R/L surround speakers.

The other option would be Super Sat 60s for all the surrounds.

Would there be a drawback to having the T2+ as rears vs Super Sats ?

Hi, Roger 1

I'm assuming you don't have the space or wiring option to have the T2'+'s as surrounds???

My impression of using them as rear surrounds: heck yes, unless you'd "mind" having gorgeous, full range sound and bass coming your way from the rear surrounds. First preference as surrounds, but as rear surrounds, why not? I would think you could adjust the relative contribution of Supersat 60 surrounds and T2+ rear surrounds via gain controls in the receiver.

I have T2's as surrounds and love the full range sound and presence they provide. Just love it!

Happy listening!

Rick

Hi Roger1, Wow, oh Wow!!!!
References and SC XXL in front and possibly T 2+s as surrounds?????
Jealous, jealous again!!!!!
I have T Ones as fronts and T 2s as surrounds, with T 3s as rear surrounds. There are not that many 7.1 movies at this time to be able to really enjoy those rear surrounds so much, but when I get a 7.1 movie, it really sounds great.
I would DEFINITELY recommend the T2+s as surrounds, and the lesser speakers as the rear surrounds. There is a LOT of 5.1 around, including most blu ray concerts are still 5.1.
You are gonna love it.
Good for you,
God Bless,
Wayne
