I see the website lists it can be used for center channel, but I rarely see this speaker being applied or reviewed in this manner online.

Will it work OK?

How does it compare to SuperSat50 or SuperSat60 if the front left and right are to be Triton Fives?

Thanks.

Yes, works great as a center speaker and is a fine match with the Trion Fives if you want to use an in-wall center in your system. If you want a slim satellite to be above or below the TV, the SuperSats would be the choice. And if you want a conventional box center, the SuperCenter XXL is the perfect performance match to the Triton Fives. All of our speakers are voiced to go together and use the same technology for the drivers as the rest of the speakers in the line.

Assuming the aesthetics are not an issue is there a preference between the MPX, 50 or 60?

Nope, all good if properly configured.

It might be worth noting that our recent trade show system, which received LOTS of industry accolades, used MPX for left/right mains and surrounds, with a SuperSat 60C mounted on top of the TV for the center speaker.

To add an additional note incase OP was thinking this:
One of the challenges to with the MPX as a center is that it must be vertically installed, and can't be rotated and installed horizontally.

Moderator, please confirm?

Also, OP the key to what the Moderator said is "if properly configured." That includes placement of all your speakers as well. Without perfect placement/imagining between your Left and Right speakers, you would notice a difference between the MPX crossed over at 80hz compared with the SuperSat 60c crossed over at 120hz. If you have even slightly sub-optimal configuration/placement of your L/R speakers, I'd recommend the MPX or the SuperCenters.
