Hello, I am setting up a designated theater room 13x13 with 9' c eilingsfor 70% movies and 30 TV and sports. Very little music if any. I was wondering what towers to get out of all the Tritons. I want WOW but do not want more than I need. I would like advice on the center as well as the rears. Also any advice on a kick ass receiver that will handle the power needed of the speakers will be much appreciated. Money is not really an option but I do not want to get more than i need for no real good reason.
Do you suggest an amp as well. thank you in advance

Tom,

Welcome to the forum! You're in the right place if you want help spending money.

I'd recommend auditioning the Triton 2+ and 3+. A quick a to b comparison should tell you pretty quickly which you'd prefer. If you plan to use a dedicated external sub, you could go with the Triton 5.

Since you're going to be doing almost 100% home theater, I'd go for the SuperCenterXXL. That should really be the foundation of your setup if you want WOW. There is a bit more detail and clarity over the SCXL but both would be great.

Surrounds are truly a matter of preference. I believe the Aons make perfect surrounds. They are extremely flexible interns of placement. Not only can you put them just about anywhere, but they will sound great regardless of positioning. Their added frequency handling capabilities make them a bit more dynamic and fun for object based surround mixes.

I'd recommend starting with an Anthem MRX for your receiver. They sound great and their room correction software is phenomenal. You should be able to demo an MRX with GET at a dealer. If you don't like the Anthem, there are great options from Marantz, Yamaha, Cambridge Audio, and many others. If you find that these AVRs don't have enough power, you can always add amps later. A word of caution, if you think you're going to go this route, you'd be better off getting a surround sound processor and amp separate setup right from the start. GET speakers are efficient enough that this shouldn't be needed, but you did mention wanting WOW...

Anyways, that should give you a good start. I'm sure you'll get a few more recommendations and honestly, they will all sound good with GET. It's simply a matter of finding your preference which will require you to perform your own auditions and decide which models present the best value for you. Please let us know what you decide and how it sounds once you have everything up and running. Happy hunting.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Well I had a demo of the Trition ones and threes in Greenville SC. He did not have the two + in stock. I loved the ones and the difference was pretty huge over the threes. For my 13x13 room i do not think i need the ones. I would of liked to have heard the two + to see the difference between them and the ones but I can pretty much figure the two + will be amazing. For the center super SCXL. Rear speakers and 2 more speakers for atmos I am not sure what I want yet and I could use some suggestions. For my projector I am going with the JVC DLA RS500 and for the receiver the Anthem MRX 710. Thats all for now. Cant wait to get all the equipment and set it up. Any input would be appreciated.
