Hey Guys,
I pretty much agree with all what you are saying, but honestly, I wouldn't know a balanced crossover
if one was lodged in my appendix!!!!!!
Just sayin' I am pretty happy with my system now, as is. Yes, sure, I would love to be able to upgrade
IF it was pretty cheap, which I am sure it won't be and easy, DIY, which I am almost positive it won't be.
So let the good times roll as they are,
God Bless,
Wayne

Hi, T. Cobe

I just got my February/March edition of Sound and Vision, with their 2015 top picks.

In the "for what's it's worth" dept,

The Marantz SR 7010 AVR was among 3 AVR's rated as the best AVR's they tested.

The Marantz AV8802 got their award as the top pick of the year overall, all components tested..."the one item we tested last year that was universally lusted for by everyone on our staff...make this baby the center of your audio universe. You'll never regret it." Wow.

I've never heard/tested the AV8802, but it sure impressed the folks at Sound and Vision.

A little off this topic: they also had 2016 reviews of the SR 7010 and a Triton 2+ Cinema system system, with great comments on both.

Happy listening!

Thanks, Rick. I read the snapshots on their website but not the full articles. I'm looking forward to hearing more about the T2+. I did have a chance to listen to the Anthem AVM 60 today briefly in 2-channel playback when I went to pick up my phono cartridge. It sounded pretty good but it was hooked up to Paradigms and it sounded foreign to me. It's funny how conditioned we get by our home system.

I still plan to go back and listen to the system when they have it fully setup. I'm confident that either Marantz or Anthem will sound great in theater play back. I'll admit I like the appearance of the Marantz much more. I'd like to read a little more on each before I decide.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Howdy Boy's :)

I am finding it difficult to listen to demo's in various places as my home setup often sounds much better!!! Were getting spoiled with this GET gear and others. The only place where I listen to something that stands out as better is a setup at a local dealer. The speakers are $210,000!! They were driven with a pair of class A tube amps that were 20K each. I forget the preamp and DAC used. It was MUCH better!! The sound felt 3 dimensional, it was incredible :woohoo:

The speakers were Wilson Alexandria XLF's 655lbs each worth of speaker, they are mounted on heavy duty casters!! Surprising as it may be these 4ohm speakers minimum power is 7w!!!

So for a mere $250,000 I can get a better setup

Enjoy,
DT

Hey D T,
I know exactly where you are coming from.
I have heard some HIGH END systems, VERY expensive and only a VERY FEW sound better than mine,
IMHO.
We are blessed with our GEt gear,
God Bless,
Wayne
