I haven't asked at this point, so don't take it as the dealer won't. I'd have to imagine this would be at least 4 hours worth of work for them to do though.

Hi guys, I am using SS3's as rear and surrounds right now. I am OK with them. I think I need to angle them toward my seating area. The sound is really good from these little beauties. I hooked them up as a 2 channel just to see what they could do. Very impressive little speaker. Good crisp clear sound, descent bass especially for the size. If I had it to do over I think I would use SS50's. When I replace these it will probably be the T5 for rears, keep SS3 for side and atmos/DTS:X. Room size, furnishings and other intangibles(wife) can have a big effect on what you use for the SS stuff. I choose the SS3 as room arrangement did not allow a floor speaker and the 3's blend in well.

Enjoy,
DT

T Cobe,

In regards to your question about hisses or hums, I have absolutely nothing coming from my speakers. My previous speaker setup (Definitive Technology Mythos ST Towers and Mythos Ten surrounds) on the Denon X4000 had a lot of popping and hissing going on. With the GET speakers on the Outlaw 7700/Marant 7702 combo I get nothing but silence.

As for Audyssey, last year while trying to determine whether an upgrade from an all in one AVR to seperates was worth while for my Triton 1's I was fortunate to have a chance to chat directly with Sandy on the phone. Anyone that follows Sandy's recommendations knows he's not the biggest fan of Audyssey room correction and advised me to turn it off completely on my Denon X4000. When I started looking into alternatives to the Denon I focused on options that did not use Audyssey (mainly Anthem and Emotiva). Then Outlaw Audio had their holiday sale in late November and their Amp/Marantz combo was too good of a deal to pass up so I jumped on it. Boy am I glad I did. Now granted, I'm using better electronics with the Outlaw 7700 and Marantz 7702 vs the X4000, however if I turn Audyssey off on the 7702 the sound now gets worse and not better like it did with the X4000. My music and movies sound better than I ever thought I could achieve at home on my budget. Even streaming Spotify via AirPlay off my iPad sounds amazing through the 7702 with Audyssey on. I can't explain it and I honestly haven't looked into the differences of Denon vs Marantz in how they implement Audyssey in their receivers, but whatever the 7702 does, it works for me.

Wayne,

Thank you for the warm welcome and your thoughts on Aons and T7's. Unfortunately, I don't see Triton towers as a viable option in my situation because I eventually want to move towards a 7.2.4 GET Atmos setup and having six large towers in our living room will be too invasive for my wife's tastes. I spent some time reading Aon and SuperSat 3 reviews last night and it seems the Aons were very popular and highly praised in 2013 when they were released. As for the Aons, are they ok wall mounted near a corner with their two side-mounted planar low-frequency radiators? I would also need to be able to mount them about 7' up right now and angle them down towards the listening position. They have a keyhole mount on the rear, are there articulating mounts that fit this hanger style available from GET or another retailer?

I still can't help feeling that GET doesn't have a "true" dedicated surround option in their catalog for the T1/SCXXL combo and would love to know if they have intentions of releasing something to match their flagship pair or if they are content with the Aon & SuperSat options they currently have available.

John,

Thank you very much for your extensive feedback on the Marantz. That's just what I was looking for in terms of first hand testimony.

Cheers,

We consider the SuperSats, Aons and Tritons all to be "true" surround channel options - as well as the Invisa MPX and HTR 7000. They are all voiced to blend perfectly so that whatever fits, properly configured, will be the perfect surround solution for a Triton-based home theater.

Yeah, I don't get that comment either. There are multiple small, wall mountable options or use a pair of smaller towers. There's no such thing as a surround speaker. Where you place it and what channel you wire it to are what makes it a surround speaker. Before that, its just a speaker.
