We consider the SuperSats, Aons and Tritons all to be "true" surround channel options - as well as the Invisa MPX and HTR 7000. They are all voiced to blend perfectly so that whatever fits, properly configured, will be the perfect surround solution for a Triton-based home theater.

Thanks for sharing. I was basing this opinion off of a demo I had at a dealer in their 7.2.4 GET Atmos room. They had Triton towers up front with the XXL center. They had Aon 2's for side surround and SuperSat 3's for the rears. During the Atmos demo disc I was played the sound felt "smaller" when the objects transitioned to the rear of the room in the surround field, it wasn't seamless. I felt the surrounds couldn't compete with the sound the T1's and SC XXL were creating.

I'm not a sound engineer, but from my understanding the T1's and the SCXXL both utilize technologies GET didn't employ when the SuperSat 3s and Aon models were engineered? Not sure if is even technology (see the newly announced T2+ and T3+) that can be employed in a smaller speaker that would be utilized for a surround.

It sounds like the best "sounding" option would be to get a set of Triton towers for the surrounds, unfortunately my room dictates smaller wall mountable options for the surrounds. It's been a few years since GET has released a new surround so was more or less just curious if anything new was in the works.

Please excuse my improper use of terminology, I'm not as knowledgeable about this stuff as I should be.

I think we're talking about degrees of good here. All the GET products match well. Certainly, their offerings match better than any other brand I am aware of throughout the product lines. The bottom line as I see it are the balanced crossovers with improved components. The technology is trickling down for the T1s, to the T5s, SCXXL, T2+, and T3+. Like John, I would like to see the Aons and even the Invisa series adapt this same upgrade.

It appears to be happening but it's going to take some time. In the meantime, I'm confident that any all GET home theater will have a pretty darn good and cohesive sound stage. I would argue that we all agree there is room for improvement; to include GET, or there
wouldn't be a T2+. It's just important to remember just how good we have it now.

Cheers,

T Cobe

I think its as simple as FR for each speaker. If you don't want the sound to get smaller, don't buy a speaker that is the size of a soda can or a loaf of bread. Buy 4 or 6 Triton Ones and a SCXXL. GEt is good but they can't defy physics.

I personally don't think the sound gets smaller when handing off to the Aons because they can legitimately play well into the 40s but I did have a similar experience with the SuperSats.

Very true, Imahawki! I think that's why we both went with the Aons and why I prefer to avoid the SuperSats. I'm sure they sound great but they can't defy the laws of physics. That said, I'd still like an Aon with the balanced crossover technology. ;)

I totally agree. Well said, T Cobe! The uniformity of the sound stage, from front to back, both for tonality and coverage, never ceases to amaze me, across the GEt speaker models.

Happy listening!
