Not "newer" drivers in any technical way, just different for the application.

Yes, that is the right question. The Triton Three is for a modest music/home theater system where an outboard sub is not an option. If you are planning a system to include an outboard sub in a "bigger" system, the Triton Seven (or Five) would be the best choice.

Moderator Dude,
Please help me. I have room that's 23'x16'x8' and just over 3,000 cubic feet. I currently have triton two's, a supercenter XL, and 4 Supersat 50's. Currently running 7.2 sound, but will soon upgrade to a Atmos type setup. Give the size of my room, I've been thinking about upgrading the fronts to Triton Ones to get more bass in the room. By no means am I lacking now, but I have the bass gain set just over the 1 o'clock position in my triton two's. With your statement above, would I get a better results from having all floor standing triton fives with independent subs? Or better to have two triton ones, a pair of triton fives in the rear? I watch 80 percent video in this dedicated theater, but do LOVE listening to 2 channel on the Tritons.

-John

If you're a serious "bass hound" like Wayne, the T5's may be your best choice. Take a chill pill and wait for more reviews to come out...better yet, if you get a chance, audition them in person when they're released.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!
