In the review of the Triton Five on HDLiving.com they have them hooked up to what appears to be the Pass Lab XA200.5. My guess is that with a nice high powered amp the Fives would sound pretty amazing. For people that can't afford to spend over $30k per speaker on an amp might the Triton Three be a better choice?

No, sorry, Bro Anthem, a serious bass hound like me runs a FF5 sub with the Triton 2s!!!!!
I would have to say, if you really need bass, then GEt makes just the right speakers for you, with a built in sub, the Ones, 2s or 3s.
Now I got two pairs of T 7s, so I am not throwing off on them, they are wonderful and full range and satisfying for what I play on them, and probably totally satisfying for MOST people all around. The T 5s sound like they will be a nice move forward on the T 7s as well.
But if you really want deep bass, life you like your rock and roll to "rock" and you like full powerful orchestra music, an organ pedal note to kick off you "Also Sprach Zarathustra" and rattle the windows, your listening seat and hit you in the chest a little at the same, you are gonna need a SUB.
If you want to watch movies and really get what is in the LFE track, the ".1" of the track, and really get the most out of your movies, you must have a SUB.
In conclusion, I really think the T 7s with a sub are fantastic. Totally great speakers without the sub, and for more rock with your roll, or for movies, add in the FF5 sub.
I hope this helps,
Happy listening and tell us what all you guys decide and how it works out,
God Bless,
Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.

Wow John, tough questions, all good. The Triton Ones are the best choice if they fit your room and budget. A pair of Triton Fives and a pair of ForceField 5's would get you close for about $1000 less, but you will never be able to integrate the subs as well as they are in the Triton Ones, and I think the Triton Ones might play slightly louder than that combo.

I'm limmited with budget. What you recommend: T7 + FF5 or just T5? What will I loose or get with first option and with second option?
Thank you.
