Hi Everyone,

Just a quick update. I received the Anthem MRX 510 a few days ago. The AON 3's sound excellent on it. Very happy with my purchase of the AON 3 and the MRX 510. Once I get 60hrs+ on the AONS I will run ARC and see if that makes a difference.

Hey Sloppy,
Please let us know how things sound as they get broken in?
And how ARC works for you? You gonna modify all frequencies as recommended, or just the bass (which are often the only frequencies which cause problems with room modes).
Please keep reporting,
God Bless,
Wayne

I will probably be running ARC a bunch of times, with different settings, speaker placements etc.

I really do want to get the best out of my system as possible. I realized over the weekend how much of a difference some settings can make. I was changing the speaker distances from 9 feet apart to 10 feet apart, did this while a song was playing and it made a big difference. Just one example of how a minor tweak can make a difference in the sound quality.

ARC is supposed to be able to provide before and after graphs with the room correction software, so I am interested in that, and seeing if I can tell a difference in the sound. I will be trying to get as close to the "target curve" as I can without running the ARC setup, by modifying speaker placement, etc. Once I get it as close as I can I will run ARC and hopefully get even closer to the 'target curve'. I will definitely be doing a lot of experimenting.

Also, my father did make the speaker stands out of steel for me, costed me 24 bottles of Molson Canadian. I will report on them on the other topic once I get some pics.

Pictures and reports please.
Unless your room has a problem, you may tweak speaker position and perhaps some furniture or room treatments and not need any ARC at all. Less is best IMHO.
But let us know, sounds like you have the ears, the will and the Dad to get a great sound (may need more beer though!!!!)
Blessings,
Wayne
