Hi,

I plan to install a mix of GE in-wall and in-ceiling speakers (8 total) in my HT. I haven't looked but I assume they employ spring loaded terminals. I don't think bananas or spades will work. What is everyone using to terminate their copper into IW and IC speakers these days?

Thanks in advance for the replies!

Hi TommyTwoTone,

I have 11 in ceiling speakers and figured simpler is better for spring loaded terminals. I use bare wire and it works just fine. There might be some who chose to tin the wire or use some contact enhancer but I didn't bother. There are also pin terminations. I used them once but found they didn't really provide any benefit when using the kind of wire you likely have in the ceiling and walls (ie smaller gauge). I have never had a problem in 3 years.

The Invisas all have spring-loaded terminals and bare wire works really well.

I used bare 12 gauge speaker wire when I installed my HTR 7000s with no problem.
