whats best distance from speaker to ears for using htr7000 as front left/center/right speakers in ceiling . the seating distance from projector screen to my ears in the seat is 11 and half feet. ear height off ground is 38 inches ceiling height is 8 and half feet. how far away given ceiling height and angle should i install the htr7000 so the sound seems like it is coming from ear level? is there a math calculation to figure out distance depending on distance between ers to ceiling and the distance from ears to speaker?

The drivers in the HTR-7000 are fixed at a 30 degree angle.

Try this right angle calculator with your room dimensions to determine the ideal placement. Remember, if it's close but not exact you should still be OK as most Atmos capable processors tie the channels together nicely. www.cleavebooks.co.uk/scol/calrtri.htm

ok i admit its been long time since i was in school but according to the way i entered in info for what i told you its saying put speakers only 37 inches in front of me as my main front speakers that sounds way too close?
i put 64 inches for the side A value which is distance from my ears to ceiling height of 102 inches
put 30 for b angle which is angle of htr7000 speaker and it calculated 37 for side B which i understand be distance from me to speaker
am i doing wrong? i figured maybe 9 -10 ft away not 3 or 4 ft.

You have the angles flipped. Angle A should be 30 degrees and Angle B should be 60 degrees. Seems counter-intuitive but gets you the right answer. When I plug in 5.5 feet room height (taking 36" seating height off the total height of 8.5 feet) I get seating to be 9.53 feet back from directly under the speakers.
