Hi. Just wanted to get opinions on using the Invisa 650 vs the HTR7000 for Atmos ceiling speakers in a 7.1.4 system. Ceilings are 10 foot for the first row of seating and and 9 1/2 foot for the second row.

OK. A search revealed that the 650s are good for above 9 foot. So I suppose that is my answer.

Based on your room's heights, the 650 is probably the best choice.

Don't get too worried about application of each speaker. I have four HTR7000s in the ceiling for my atmos speakers. Given difficulties with coffers, can lights, etc I couldn't get them right where I wanted them. The angled design of the HTR7000 really hasn't made any problems for sitting below them with 12' ceilings. All I've really noticed from the angle is that as you move them further and further from the MLP, they sound like speakers mounted lower on a wall rather than in the ceiling. Standing below them, they sound great and the angle doesn't negatively impact anything.

Kind of my experience also. When I auditioned the 7000’s for my second pair of heights (9’ ceiling in my case), I listened to both the 7000’s and Invisa’s 525’s in wall at the dealer, walked around as I listened moving close and further back, and the 7000’s dispersion was every bit as good as the 525’s No 650 available but dispersion should be similar.

I had to compromise around air duct and other restrictions also, and am totally happy with the sound field. I did install the 7000’s further outboard than my rear height 525’s, but the 7000’s impressed me with their excellent dispersion at any angle and distance.

Don’t know about how they’d present at heights above 9’ though.

Which would be better for a low ceiling? I'm going for a 7.1.4 setup and have ordered 1.Rs up front, the reference center and 4 sat3's for the side and rears. Our ceiling is only 8 feet and we sit 11 feet from a 77 inch LG. I just can't decide on the 4 ceiling Atmos speakers, if the 650 or 7000 would be better or if it matters than much for just the ceiling speakers. Any suggestions?
