I’d get 650s. They sound great, cost less, and work perfectly for atmos speakers in that height ceiling.

I would consider better speakers for your surrounds and rear surrounds. I have the SS3s for rear surrounds and they’re just ok. You have to cross them over at 150hz because their bass response is nonexistent. It works for me because I use two rear subs which are literally right below my SS3s. Ideally I’d have a speaker that can reach down to 80hz or so. I haven’t tried the 50s yet but I think they may do a better job. The SS3 is the first GE product I’ve bought and thought ‘well this isn’t very good’.

Thanks for the reply spearfish. The specs GE lists for the sat3s lists frequency response 80hz-350khz, is that not accurate? I was hoping to keep within a specific budget and I'm pushing that already but if I have to set the LFE crossover too high then the 50's may be a better choice.

I used REW in my room and the SS3s rolled off quickly below 150hz. It fits when listening by ear....there is no appreciable bass from the speakers. I was going to swap them for the SS50s but then saw some posts online that they only improve things to about 120hz. Such is life with tiny drivers. If you put a subwoofer in the back of the room and cross them over at 150hz, you'll never notice the lack of bass since the sub will pick up the missing portion.

I have the Invisa MPX for my side surround speakers and 2 650s and 2 HTR7000s for my atmos speakers. The 650s and 7000s get down to about 80hz. The MPX are around 100hz before they roll off. As for my front trio, the SuperCenter Ref gets to about 40hz but I cross it over at 60hz for a smoother FR curve. My T1s roll off around 25hz. I added two SVS PC-2000 Pro subs and they roll off around 17Hz.

Well looks like I'll be adding another sub near the back then, lol. I've got one upstairs with my PC that I can play around with. And the 650's sounds like they will work, thanks again.

I totally agree with all comments that recommend having bass fill in surround, whether from the speakers selected, or placing sub(s) back there!

I have heard some great HT set ups with lots of front bass, great sub there, and small surround speakers, and, well, it's not the same. IF you want total surround experience, bass fill in back also makes a big difference! Whether it's action movies, concerts, it does add a lot to the sense of being there, surrounded, if the full sound is enveloping, front to back!

Just my opinion.

I would definitely go with the InVisa 650 accordingly to the specs you've shared. This speaker is a great choice as compared to the HTR7000. Also, I feel like there are so many new ceiling speakers available in the market like this review . Just curious to know, why don't you are looking something in Klipsch, Pyle, Polk Audio, Bose?
