Similar to many others with an open floor plan, I’m facing challenges while designing a practical system. The GoldenEar products looks like they may work, but I’d like to get a sanity check before moving forward and cutting holes in the ceiling.

I would love to have a 5.1.4 Atmos setup. My front left, center, and right channels will be ear-level speakers. However, because of the room layout, ear-level speakers for surrounds just isn’t possible. Would it make sense to use two HTR 7000s for the surrounds for the ear-height plane? Would there be enough separation with the four Atmos speakers height plane? So far, I’m thinking Invisa 600s for the four Atmos ceiling speakers.

Any thoughts? Would this work? Or should I just stick to plain 5.1?

My ceilings are 10 feet high.

Thanks!
