at a cost of $400.00 to ship the speaker to the dealer and then have it shipped back to me you can see why i`m not happy, but becauseof all the good press and reviews about these speakers that is why i purchased them, the right speaker is toast and they sound terrible not plugged in, for the cost of shipping i think i will try to sell the pair as is

We understand - it sucks when stuff breaks. :-)

I am sorry for the circumstances here. It sounds like tech support tried to help you out and come up with a best guess free solution for you. If it had solved the problem they would have been heroes. Not the result anyone hoped for. Why don't you take a moment on Monday to call the office and request tech support again? The company has had a reputation for bending over backwards to solve problems and make customers happy. Maybe they deserve another chance to see if they can further troubleshoot and fix the issue? There are very few parts involved in the powered section (two complete assemblies and some cables) - it simply can't be that hard to fix. It may just take a couple tries to get you the right part to solve the problem. Without knowing all the details, it just sounds to me like the first guess was wrong. In "remote" repairs, that is often the case.
