I am in the process of moving from NY to FL. I will be able to move my TRef out of my current home theater and into a dedicated 2 channel audio room. My only issue is the room is 8 x 12 feet with 8 feet ceilings.

Is this room too small?

And how should I setup the TRef inside that room?

Thanks for any help or advice

Hi

Re your question whether the room is too small, I like Anthem's answer awhile ago to a similar question about T Ref's and room size, to the effect maybe a closet is too small, but otherwise...

You can always adjust bass dial settings on the Ref's, and SL on the feeds to make it work, and well, in that room.

Re how to set up, most set up guides suggest experimenting with speaker placement until you find what works best in that room's particular acoustic characteristics. Given the 8 by 12' dimensions, I'd be tempted to try first placing the Ref's along the 12' wall to get some separation and good imaging. But if you have the patience to try both the 8 and 12' wall placing, go for it!

Happy listening! You'll find a setting that works for you. Enjoy your new digs in FL!

Thanks!

Yes I will have to experiment with different listening positions. Just wanted to make sure speakers weren’t too big for space.

GRG:
I2 x 8...now that is a small room. About the size of a closet, right Rick? However, as Rick states, with the bass dial setting you can achieve great sound in relatively small spaces, even closet's. Another suggestion would be to use different sized speaker spikes to tilt the T Refs down toward ear level. As Rick stated, I too would be inclined to put the speakers on long wall for greater separation.

Do you have a picture of the room? That would help.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Once I get down there I can send pictures of the room but I didn’t think about setting it alng the wall but a good thought. I figured the listening position would be too close.
