I have a set of Triton III that I want to replace the speaker wires with new ones. Can someone tell me the maximum wire size (AWG) that I can use on the binding posts. And will BFA style connectors work OK with these speakers?
Thank you in advance.
Lou.

LMarchione,
I cannot tell you the max awg of bare wire, but I can tell you that BFA and bananas will work for sure!!!!
I really like BFA but have had bad luck with them. When I wanted to move my speakers back some, I found my wire were not quite long enough, and so there was a sideways pull on the BFAs, which collapsed them, they are not made strong for sideways pull, AT ALL.
Hope this helps,
God Bless,
Wayne

The hole in the binding post is 6mm in diameter.

Based on your reply of the hole being 6 mm, then according to this chart, www.engineeringtoolbox.com/awg-wire-gauge-d_731.html I will be able to fit a 12 gauge wire in the hole of the binding post without any problems.
Thank you very much.

I have used the Belden 5T00UP 10 gauge wire in the binding posts with no issues. I'm not sure I could have gone much bigger than that. Beware of gold plate brass BFAs. I used a low end BFA that was gold plated and was losing about 3 dB of treble. Bare wire or solid copper have been more consistent for me. Just my .02.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Thank you very much Mr. Cobe. The information you supplied is what I was looking for. I'm planning on using 12 gauge wires from Belden or Blue Jeans. Just waiting for Denon for a reply to the same question for the size of wire I can use on the receiver speaker connection before I make my purchase. Thanks again and have a great day.
