Lou,

You're most welcome. I'm glad the information was useful. In follow up, I have found BFA/banana connectors to be the easiest for connecting AVRs. Again, I'd recommend using high quality, gold plated copper connectors. The cheap brass versions I have tried did not work out for me and I ended up going back to bare wire. That thick of a wire gauge may be difficult to feed into an AVR terminal. After stripping and twisting the wires, it seems like you only get a shot or two to feed the wires cleanly before they start getting a bit unwieldy. Let us know how you get on with this process.

Cheers,

T Cobe

I agree with you Mr. Cobe. That is why I'm still waiting for Denon to respond to my email requesting to know what is the largest wire size I can use on their AVR speaker connectors. I'm also done trying to insert bare wires in both AVR and speaker connectors, it's a pain. I will definitely purchase good grade banana or BFA connectors. Maybe a set of Audio Quest. Thanks again for your input.
Louis.

Wire is best terminated bare. Why introduce any other metals, connectors and so on unless it's absolute necessity? (like an audio dealer constantly removing and reattaching) As to feed bare ware to you AV terminals, I documented a technique on the forum previously. Maybe this could be of help/use to you. www.goldenear.com/forum/Basic-Hookup-and...r-strip-speaker-wire

Well it has been about a month (March 16th, 2017) since I replaced the speaker wires for the front L&R and center speakers with AudioQuest X2 (14 gauge) cables and AudioQuest SureGrip 300 BFA/Banana connectors, along with AudioQuest Cinnamon HDMI cable between the Oppo BDP-103 and the Danon Receiver, and listened to a lot of different types of music. My conclusion is that the sound is the SAME as before. Although I feel more confident with these components than the previous clear type wires. I do want to recommend purchasing the BFA/Banana SureGrip 300 NOT the 100. They're a little more money but much better quality.
:) :) :)
