Thank you for the reply Winefix. Hope I didn't get you in hot water with Moderator.

Wayne...A very reasonable request! Isn't your birthday next week?

Just over a month, and I am holding my breath!!!!
ha ha
Enjoy guys,
I saw the Sphinx got a great review in the Absolute Sound, so it must be worth a listen.
Tubes with Class D, what will they think of next?
God Bless,
Wayne

Sorry, y'all- didn't mean to post anything against the forum rules.

I am anxiously awaiting the Triton ones and will see if the class d with tubes sounds as good with current speakers.
So far, best of both worlds with a nice balance between warmth and resolution.

Plus the tritons are way more efficient, so should gain some headroom as well.

Best,

TJ

I've been conversing with Steve Deckert from decware.com via email. We've been discussing which of his amplifiers would work best with the Triton 2's. His recommendation would be the Zen Mystery Amp. I've done some reading on this amp and it truly does sound like the last amp I'll ever want or need. The introductory price on the web site is only good til the end of May...so need to make some decisions.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Never heard of that brand ??, I would stick with known brands/ models with a history of many positive reviews across respected publications.
(my two cents)

Decware has been around since 1996. They are located in Peoria IL. I found them on flip board after typing in "tube amps." They are an "internet order only" company. All of their amps are handmade and take 4-12 weeks to produce.
They have a complete web site with a forum about each of their products. Tone Audio magazine's Jeff Dorgay was so impressed with the Decware Zen Tori MK3 that he bought the review sample.

As far as they know, they are the only audio company making high quality tube amplifiers with a lifetime warranty.

The Zen Mystery Amp is new...has a thread all its own. Sounds and looks like a spectacular amp.
