Hi, I own the TritonTwos and the SS50C for my home theater room. I like the sound so much am looking to purchase the Aon 2 or 3, for my living room.

The specs for both have little diff. So was wondering which one should I go for?
The sound should be identical with the Aon 3 being able to play louder. The 4db diff in bottom end should not be very relevant or is it? Also the sensitivity is close.

Do both speakers go as low as claimed?

The Aon 2 and Aon 3 are very similar - physical size, bass extension and maximum playing ceiling are the only differences. Your choice will depend on any size restrictions, the room size they will be used in and your listening preferences. Both models produce very surprising bass for their size, price and efficiency.

Regarding bass extension, I have Aon 3's in one of my listening rooms and I measure room flat bass to 40Hz, and it is apparent they have real energy below that frequency as well. Aon 2's offer just a little bit less extension, but in my recent first audition of a production sample pair at one of our dealers, all of us listening were quite amazed at the overall full range response of the speakers.
