Merry Christmas and welcome to the forum golfingff!!!!!

You are indeed well on the right track and should get some awesome sound with whichever stands you choose. These little speakers are a wonder!!!!!

You can hardly go wrong, but just in case, this is the place to ask questions.
But PLEASE let us know what you decide and how it sounds, how it works out for you.

Enjoy the music, God Bless, Wayne

Thanks again guys for all your help and your time to respond with helpful info! I think I will be safe going with the 34" stands that I had in mind. Looking forward to getting everything in place and listening to these awesome speakers! Merry Christmas!

I trust everyone had an enjoyable holiday.

To expand on my previous comment:
In terms of the distance apart, think about it like this. If your TV is in between your front speakers and your left and right speakers are 10 feet apart from each other then you should sit ~10 feet away from your TV. If you sit too much farther (like 15 feet for example), you'll shrink the width of the sound. It will still sound great, just not quite as spacious. Sitting closer than 10 feet is even a bit better (within reason, of course) as I, and I believe Sandy Gross, prefer this more enveloping wider sound - especially for music.

About toe-ing in the speaker take a look at this diagram I found:
www.dc10audio.com/toe-in-graphic.gif
See how the speakers are rotated towards the listener? That's toe-in. The idea here is that you want the left speaker pointed at your left ear and your right speaker pointed at your right. And then rotate them apart a bit more. What does 'a bit more' mean? That's entirely up to you and your preference. It's all part of the fun. In general, the more direct the speaker is at you the better the imaging, and the wider (less 'toe-in') the speaker is at you, the better that sense of spaciousness. Play around and do what you think sounds/looks best.

Hopefully that answers more questions than it asks.

Thanks for your time and information. This forum is full of helpful and kind people :) Upon moving into our new place, I now realize that the speakers are going to be closer to the TV than I originally thought if I put them on the cabinet next to it. I was wondering what your opinions were on the placement of the front speakers, and if you guys thought that it was worth getting speaker stands for the front right/left as well to get them further apart? As it stands they would be about a foot from the TV on either side and approx 7' between the two speaker centers. The other option is to order a couple more stands to get them further from the TV on each side? I am enclosing a picture of the cabinet with the new TV so you could get a better idea of what I am up against here. Thanks again to all who have helped!
btw- We will be sitting approx 9' from the TV

Hi golfingff,
That info and picture makes things clearer.
I am no expert, but I would say it is a BIG YES on the extra stands to move the Aons out from the TV another foot on both sides, thereby giving you basically an equilateral triangle of 9 X 9 X 9. This will improve your stereo image and bass smoothness a LOT, IMHO.

Whatever you do, it will work, but you must spend some time "dialing" in the speaker positions for best sound.
You are asking great questions, and I feel sure you will love the sound you get. Enjoy!!!

God Bless, Wayne

Thanks again Wayne. I started thinking that by putting the fronts on some stands that it would give me more versatility in placing the speakers in the optimum position. This would allow me to try some different spots until I find that sweet sound that I am looking for. I have pretty much decided that I would order the 34" for the rears as from what I have learned here there aren't a lot of people putting them on higher stands than that. Should I just stick with the same height on the front stands as I was kind of leaning that direction? I know that the rear surrounds can/should be a touch higher in a perfect world, but I am somewhat limited there with other factors that I spoke of. I think the 34" will get them close enough to ear level to enjoy the sound until I can figure out something that will improve their positioning. I like the idea of the equilateral triangle (who knew that Geometry may come in handy some day?) ;) Now I just have to figure out where to put the Force Field Sub? Is it better towards a corner of the room or is this just a case of moving/trying it in all sorts of positions (aka sub crawl I believe)? Thanks again to all who take the time to help us newbies out with trying to get the most out of our awesome new gear!
