Can you please provide the recommended cross over frequencies for the following GE speakers

1. Aon 3 as front speakers
2. Supersat 50c as center
3. Supersat 3 as surrounds

Using a different brand of subs for low frequencies which play between 80-100hz depending on whether watching movies, concerts or music.

Conservatively setting them LCR and surrounds at 80hz as of the moment but would like to know more.

Thanks Modz.

It depends on several factors, but in general, for a system including a subwoofer:

1. 60-80Hz
2. 100-120 Hz
3. 120Hz

As a follow up

Can you enlighten me on what several factors can affect the crossover frequencies?

Why do you recommend the surrounds to be set at such a high crossover freq?

Probably best to visit your GoldenEar dealer and spend some time reviewing all this - but I'll give you the outline:

1) Sub location - far away from center means you must use a lower crossover point;
2) Desired playback level - if you want the system to play loud, a higher crossover point is necessary;
3) Wall mounting reinforces lower frequencies and can allow for a lower crossover point;
4) There is no advantage to setting a lower crossover for the surrounds, and lots of disadvantages... and remember, these are SATELLITES, not full range or quasi full range speakers,

Hope this very basic primer helps in your understanding.
