Dear sirs,

I am about to build a Home Theater with GoldenEar Speakers and I just want to know if it is possible to use an external trigger to turn on the ForceField Subwoofers. If it isn´t possible, could you supply a schematic, so I could make it by myself? I am asking that because I don´t like auto turn on feature in subwaoofers, because they tend to delay a little bit after the music material is played.

Maybe using some pins from the optional wireless port?

Short answer, no. I would suggest a triggered power strip if this is what you want to do. Our amps auto on circuit responds in a fraction of a second upon input signal - we have never had a complaint about the delay so I can't imagine it being a real issue for you. But if so, a triggered power strip will do the trick.

Hello,

Thanks for replying. Do you know if ForceField 5 will have external trigger? Do you know when ForceField 5 will be released?

One suggestion: Please list the +/-3db specs for your speakers and if possible -6db.

When we don´t have a near dealer, we rely on specs.

Thanks!!

Hi again -

Nope, the ForceField 5 will have the same feature set as the other ForceField models. Perhaps in some later generation if it is a commonly requested feature.

Sandy Gross does not believe in specifications being used for evaluating loudspeakers. If you want numbers, all the review magazines do testing (all different methods, with varying but fairly consistent results). All the reviews also talk about how the speaker sounds, and sounds compared to other competitive products.

The reviews have resulted in probably the most celebrated and award winning new speaker brand in decades. I think that's the larger and more important message. And we're trying our best to fill out our dealer network so everyone has a dealer close by enough to get a product audition.
