I first had my Triton 2 speakers powered by my Onkyo 809 and they sounded amazing, much better than a lot of speakers with higher price tags when compared. I could tell that my Receiver was clipping a lot earlier than it had with my B&W VM1's. While it was still insanely loud and clear I just had to see what these awesome speakers could do with a little more power. I purchased the Emotiva UPA-1 mono blocks that provide 200 watts RMS each and they only cost 349 with a 5 percent discount if your military. All I can say is wow these speakers like to be fed! They were already one of the best speakers I had ever heard, but after giving them some extra power I can honestly say they are the best period. Get a set now and watch the first 5 minutes of Top Gun in Dolby True HD and find a better speaker, I bet you would be hard pressed for under 15 grand. I am extremely happy with the performance, and for the first time I can ever remember the volume knob on my receiver has an unknown zone that my ears dare not go. The scary part is the clarity of theses speakers, they just sing all the way up to loudness levels that make me worry about the rhythm of my heart being disrupted because of the movement of air. If anyone has any questions about my setup or settings feel free to ask. Thank you Sandy for such a great product that the other 99 percent of us can stick our chest out about!
