I'm an old planar (electrostat) guy too Winefix, virtues and limitations to be sure. Tradeoffs make our audio world go round...

Maybe the best answer for your desired result is a third Triton One standing behind the center of a transparent screen (I think the SI weaves are sonically the best at this)? A bigger center from us, if there is one, will simply allow a bit more headroom at a lower crossover point. It will still be a horizontal center channel speaker, which have certain limitations (that most of us live with quite nicely).

So are you saying if you were to use the Triton one's as "rears", that the sub of the Triton's should be directed to the LFE and I can keep the Triton Fronts as large?

I am leaning towards the idea of using the Triton One's as large "Fronts", the Triton Seven's as rear and surround, and 2 FF 5's as the LFE

I am looking to nail this system the first time.

Thanks,

Mark

Lots of setup options, keeping fronts and rears as large will direct all bass to both pairs and LFE to Fronts only. To direct LFE to all four you would need to add 4 LFE cables and set them to Large and sub now to "Yes". This is the preferred setup with multiple pairs of built-in sub Tritons.

The setup you describe would be lovely. T1's would be Large, sub would be Yes (LFE to FF5's), T7's could be set Large, or Small with a low-ish crossover point for more headroom.

I was at my dealer and should have my Ones in about 10 days or so...Lets Hope they end the strike in Vancover? I was talking to my dealer and he stated that GE is coming out with a larger center for the Triton One, so I am holding off and will stick one of my Triton 7s from my bedroom for the short term.

I have a 5.1 in the bedroom which is overkill, I will just use my Aon 3s and Forcefield 4 as 2.1 for now in the bedroom.

I was reading this topic and obviously the ready has a lot of disposable cash, but too me having the Triton Ones as rears is not necessarily the best use of the speaker IMO.

I would rather go with a pair of Aon 3's or Triton 7s and go with a pair of SVS SB13-Ultra's for bass. You would be spending less money and get more bass for your buck. I have demo's the ones and I am waiting as my orders have hopefully left port and are on their way to KY to be delivered to my dealer.

I am going with a similar setup:

Triton Ones Fronts
Triton Sevens Surrounds
AON 3 Rears
2x SVS Subs in the back
INVISA MPX Ceiling, I am rehabbing a basement so will probably add those, at the very least pre-wire

Between the Subs in the ones and the SVS, I will not be wanting for Bass.

Hey rcos,
That sounds like quite the setup, IF you can get it all to play nicely together.
You certainly should not be hurting for bass.
Nor am I, I have the T2s as fronts, the T3s as surrounds, the T7s as rear surrounds and a ForceField 5 in the rear.
I do not have it all balanced perfectly yet, if I ever do, but there is lots of bass and we definitely feel surrounded with sound!!!
Let us know how it all sounds, the Ones will probably be killers and likely not need any help at all in the bass department.
We want to hear more from you,
God Bless, Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.
