Looking for a wall mountable HT solution. Screen is about 10' across.

1. mount three identical SS50s across the bottom of screen, about 22" off floor. Maybe another two (vertical type) as surrounds, OR

2. three Aon 3s across front on Omnimounts, 2 more as surrounds.

I have read many places that identical front three provide a nice seamless sound, five identical even better.

I also plan on using this for 2 channel and will use 2 subs (large room). ALso, does either approach compromise 2 channel??

1. That will work, using SuperSat 50C's horizontally.
2. Also good, but will be a very different look than wall mounted SuperSat 50's.

Identical across the front is certainly desirable although not necessary if speakers have been designed to go together. Both setups will sound great with stereo music playback - two subs is also an excellent way to minimize room issues and bass localization.

I understand these two options are visually quite different. I am really looking for the best option for 2 channel music. I'd love to do towers, but due to space/kids/etc that's not an option.

Could you also comment on wall mount of either approach vs. using an Omnimount and getting them maybe 2-8" off the wall.

Thanks.

Aon 3's out from the wall would be your best music listening choice, although the SuperSat 50's mounted on the wall also produce excellent 2-channel playback fidelity. The SuperSats also will require a much higher crossover point than the Aons, which will effect best-results subwoofer locations.

Hope this helps.

While fidelity is important, for me, imaging in the hallmark of a great 2 channel music experience.

1. which would produce better stereo imaging?
2. would a bracket that suspends them off the wall 2-8" help this?

I have a lot of flexibility on placement of dual subs, probably anywhere on front and opposing back wall will work.

The Aon setup you described, mounted off the wall, is the preferred, as I mentioned. Subs on the back wall will not work with the SuperSats, they would both need to be in the front.
