Ejay220 I hope someone like the Moderator Dude who can foretell the GEt future will answer your question.
But I just wanted to congratulate you on your excellent speaker purchase, I am SURE you will love your TRefs!!!!!
And I can understand your desire for a Reference Center to go along with them.
So far as I know, at least for now, the SC XXL are the current reference center.
I "only" have the SC X and I love it. From all reports, the XXL is supposed to kick butt!
So I would imagine it would be a great match for your TRefs, and some of the guys who have both may chime in here to confirm that. Or not.
Happy hunting and listening,
God Bless,
Wayne

Hi Ejay220,

I have had the SC XXL from shortly after it came to market. Originally I had it with T1's and over the last 6 or so months I have had it with the TRef's. My impression is that it is the perfect match for either. It's voicing, in my opinion is flawless with both. For a largish room (mine is 16x22x9) it is more than enough speaker to provide amazing center channel with plenty of volume and crystal clear dialog. I have my crossover set to 60 Hz and I have never felt that I have over driven it, and I do like to watch action movies that can get quite loud.

I must admit that I hope GE doesn't have a Reference center coming. I have spent enough of my money with them already and would like to upgrade my surround speakers first. ;-) However, the moral of the story for me is that I don't feel I am missing anything whatsoever with the SC XXL center and the TRefs. They make an amazing combination.

Of course, I am not privy to any inside information so I have no idea whether GE is planning a reference center.

Good luck in the decision making!
Jim

Thank you so much for your input that actually helped me a great deal one of my main concerns was the voicing difference from the Triton ones to the references and whether the center would be affected
My surrounds will be next to upgrade
I really wish I could find someone in az that has the equipment so I can hear them especially for the surrounds... so many options

Looks like everyone has given you some good feedback. I can only confirm that there is not a Reference center speaker planned in the near future. There has been much internal discussion and it was agreed that, 1) The XXL matches perfectly with the T-Refs, and 2) Setting a slightly higher crossover point on the SuperCenter XXL (say to 100 Hz) will gain back any required headroom to keep up with the T Refs vs the T1s.

You're welcome! I'm glad to be able to help.

As far as the voicing subject. I would say that the TRefs and the T1s have very similar voicing. However, the TRef's have better of pretty much everything. Better sound staging, better bass, better dynamics, and better highs (to a small degree), and a generally bigger sound. However, I still love my T1s in my secondary system. :-)

Let us know how the SC XXL works out for you if you pull the trigger!
