Audio Jim and Moderator Dude have nailed how I feel about the SCXXL and how it pairs with either theT1 or the T Ref’s. In a word, it matches either. My SCXXL started out with T1 fronts, and then with T Ref’s. In both cases, the sound field across the front (and everywhere) was perfect.

The SCXXL plays with the front “big boys” perfectly!!! All I can add is that when I switched the fronts from T1’s to T Ref’s, I also moved the crossover of the SCXXL to 80 HZ, not so much for headroom reasons as to move more of the sound to the amazing T Ref’s bass section.

Still haven’t found any GEt speaker combo’s that don’t match up sonically in a perfect sound field....

The dealer where I got my system did not have the XXL supercenter in stock. Had to go to a second dealer to hear the XXL. Boy am I happy I waited and did not buy the XL Supercenter. I did go back to the first dealer and bought the system.

Now after 150 hours on the system and finally getting time to play some Blu-ray players I am so pleased. Really suggest you change the cross over to 80 Hz so if you turn up the volume with heavy bass the XXL doesn't struggle. It did not happen to me just based upon Sandy's Tips and my experience the XXL is better at 80 Hz.

The voice and total match to my T-1 is fantastic. Most important the clear dialog is fantastic.

After breaking in the front 3 speakers, I moved the center channel speaker up from the bottom shelf under the TV to 5" higher and that really made a difference. Also screw in the center leg all the way and only put the left and right legs in a few turn so the speaker is aimed up toward your hears. Originally mine was below the knees and now its up to chess height. Big difference.

I used a construction laser that my wife gave me years ago and that is why I moved it up. Also used it to help focus the toe in on the L & R channel.

Splurge and buy the XXL...it's outstanding and blows away my old top of the line Def Tech center channel speaker.

I did see that this thread is a bit old...and as I expected everyone offered what I would say....I've got the XXL with the T2+ and MPXs....I found it made a huge diff bringing the centre out a bit...about a foot...foot and a half out from the wall....maybe cause there's a bulkhead above that spot...but in any event it's a great centre that allows plenty of overhead. I crank it all the time...have to take a couople days rest sometimes as my tinnitus gets bad.

Anyways I really just wanted to post to share that your comment about your dealer not allowing you to return a high end piece of equipment raised my eyebrow of condemnation. This has never been an issue with any dealer I've purchased from...GE or another manufacturer. Building a system puts thousands worth of business in their spreadsheets and I'm used to dealers that help me get what will make me happy. If it means I took it home and it didn't work out in my room they've always been happy to help me find what will really work. Wow maybe I've been lucky in this way but I don't think I'd buy from a dealer that does business that way.
Upstairs: SuperCinema 3 (SVS SB-2000 though), Denon AVR E-400
Downstairs: Triton 2+, SCXXL, MPX's on the sides, HTR's up top, rears ?? Marantz SR7010, PB-2000

In defense of the dealer (maybe), not all of our dealers have all of our products available for demo. If they do, as most all of our major market retailers do, they would most certainly loan their demo out over an evening or weekend for you to try. If they don't have one, I can certainly understand why they would not be willing to order one for you to "try". If you live in a market where you can't hear one, at least you can use the feedback from the forum members here, and professional reviewers comments, to make a sound :) decision.

I would like to thank everyone who commented on my post I did pull the trigger and got the center channel xxl
I also got the SuperSat 60 for surround back in a 5.1
I was reading Sandy’s tips yesterday and he suggested using sound bar for surround speakers has anyone done this or know how to wire it up
After investigating I found out there was three different leads for three different speakers in the bar. not sure how that was supposed to be wired for surround
Triton References
Marantz 8802a and mm8077
Sony 75 940E
Sony 800x uhd player
XXL Center
