DaveyMac,
I believe the SCXXL and the T5 both received the benefit of some trickle down technology from the T1 including the balanced crossovers and maybe a few others. My guess is that they would be a very good match but others here may be able to offer a first hand testimonial.
If you can sell your SCXL and minimize your upgrade cost, it may be a reasonable upgrade. If not, it may not be a good return on investment. As Wayne has illuded to, there will always be a bigger, better, faster... Chasing the latest and greatest can be expensive. I recently had my SCXL hooked up to a monoblock amp (Emotiva XPA-1L) and it made a significant improvement. I was originally planning on only purchasing two of these amps for my towers; however, after hearing the impact on my center channel, I will be purchasing another at some point.
Anyways, just a little food for thought. I don't blame you for wanting to upgrade to the SCXXL. Full disclosure, I will do the same at some point as well. Let us know what you decide and how things sound if you upgrade.
Cheers,
T Cobe
