I think they're great for use on airplanes or in other noisy environments. I do not think they are great for serious listening. I think Paul Barton is a gifted designer and all the PSB headphones I have heard have been excellent. Perhaps the best of the ones offered by a speaker brand. Until GoldenEar headphones arrive, of course. :)

Thank you, Moderator.

If you're serious about GE offering a headphone product I'd be interested. Even if a year out. Can/will you share some definitive details please?

Nothing to report other than still planned. Given that, at least another year away. Sorry.

I guess the message is that there are many ways to block out background noise, (including turning off the AC when listening to your amazing Ref;s :) .)

I guess my input would be to listen to and audition the headphones you are considering if you can, especially with the AC running, and compare SQ you hear vs. what the Ref's do for you. If the PSB headphones do it for you, that's great. There ARE other iem and closed back options if not. But you have set a high standard wanting to "replace" T Ref sound with headphones when AC is on. Me, I'd maybe just play on without AC for a bit. Duplicating T Ref SQ is a tall order!!!

Whatever works for you, but try it first. :)

Rick

Would you please suggest ma a good one under $30??

Hi, Ryan

I am not an expert on headphones or headphones $30 and under. But looking at reviews, the Bohwinger Studio HP3000 at $19.99 sure looks interesting. Amazon has it.

Hope this helps.

Everybody,

I have a pair of Grado SR125 on-the-ear phones. I have had these phones for at least 20 years. Grado is known for it's natural open sound. No - they are not over-the-ear and they are not noise canceling. I also have a pair of Sony MBR-XB950N1 Bluetooth wireless noise-canceling phones. The Sony phones do an excellent job of noise reduction and have decent sound, but they cannot compare with the Grado phones for natural sound.

In August, Grado quietly introduced their first wireless phones - using Bluetooth technology. Knowing Grado's meticulous attention to their sound, I ordered a pair of these phones (they should arrive tomorrow). I am expecting these phones to provide very nice sound without the wires.

My point in posting in this thread: If you want natural sound without bass emphasis and you don't need noise canceling, check out the Grado line on their website. Crutchfield also handles some of the Grado phone line.

Happy listening,

Art
