Hello guys. I am a new owner of Goldenear Triton Two and Supersat 50C. Right now I am a bit dissapointed how the bass is sounding compared to the ones the I was demoed (Starwars) :S . The part were the big ship was flying across the screen and I can feel the bass rumbling as if the ship is real. But when I set up my newly unpacked Triton Two and watched G.I. Joes, I have to set the dial to 2 0'clock to feel the bass (still weak  ) and nowhere close to the starwars movie.

I have an Onkyo TX-NR906 Receiver, Oppo BDP-83 Blu-ray player and a Emotiva amp. XPA 5 :cheer: .
My settings for are Oppo are Front L/R channel set to large, Center and Surround: small and Subwoofer: No.

Receiver:
Subwoofer: No
Front: Full Band (Fixed) because subwoofer is set to "No".
Center: 100Hz
Surround: 120Hz They are SVS-01 speakers for now.
LPF of LFE: 90Hz (There's no option to not to set this setting). Settings are, 80Hx(THX), 90, 100 and 120Hz. I don't know which one is right for the Tritons.

In Onkyo, there are no settings for Small/Large speakers only crossovers.

The following crossover frequencies can be specified: This is for the Front L/R, Center and Surrounds.

Full Band, 40 Hz, 50 Hz, 60 Hz, 70 Hz, 80 Hz (THX),
90 Hz, 100 Hz, 110 Hz, 120 Hz, 130 Hz, 150 Hz, or
200 Hz.
From the manual:
Specify Full Band for speakers that can output low-frequency bass sounds adequately, for example, speakers with a good sized woofer. For smaller speakers, specify. a crossover frequency. Sounds below the crossover frequency
will then be output by the subwoofer instead of
the speaker. Refer to your speakers’ manuals to determine
the optimum crossover frequencies.
If you’re using THX-certified speakers, specify
80 Hz (THX) for all speakers

This came from the manual too:

With this setting, you can specify the cutoff frequency of
the LFE channel’s low-pass filter (LPF), which can be
used to filter out unwanted hum. The LPF only applies to
sources that use the LFE channel.
*If you’re using THX-certified speakers, select
“80Hz(THX)”.

Base on my current settings, is there something else I am misssing/wrong aside for not running the auto set up? Right now the bass is low I am planning to watch "The Transformers" and see if the bass will be different. Thank you for your input.
BTW: My listening position is 13' away from the Tritons and they are 9'3" inches away from each other.

Also I run my Oppo to TV via HDMI and the the speaker cables to the receiver's Pre out.
From the manual: I disconnected the subwoower cable.

PRE OUT: FRONT L/R, CENTER,
SUBWOOFER, SURR L/R, and SURR BACK
L/R
This 5.1/7.1 multichannel analog audio output can
be connected to the analog audio input on a multichannel
power amplifier for when you want to use
the AV receiver solely as a preamplifier. The SUBWOOFER
jack is for connecting a powered subwoofer.

Thank you for reading this.

Thanks for your purchase. Let me note first that in a room the apparent size of yours (smallish), a setting of two o'clock on the TritonTwos, if everything is working and set properly, would knock you out of your chair. Mine are set at 10 o'clock in my smallish room and they pound.

Regarding your setup, sounds about right except I don't understand your connections. Your BluRay Audio path should be HDMI - use the Oppo's analog L/R for CD playback perhaps. The speaker wires should be connected to the amplifier, amp inputs connected to the receiver pre-outs for the 5 channels. No subwoofer connections anywhere.

Speaker settings sound correct - full band L/R, no sub (I'd use 120Hz on the 50C though). The LFE crossover can be 120Hz (I've never heard of a reason why it should be lower with stereo subs) since that is supposed to be the upper limit of information on the LFE channel.

You didn't mention whether there was bass elsewhere in the room (in which case your listening position is in a null). You also didn't describe your room - does it have four walls? Where are the speakers located in relation to the walls/corners? Bass response requires room reinforcement.

I presume you have made sure the powered bass sections in both speakers are functioning (green lights on, bass coming from both drivers in each speaker). Beyond this, I would suggest consulting with your local GoldenEar dealer - it is very hard to troubleshoot via a forum.

Hope this helps.

If I use the HDMI for audio, I am using the Oppo's audio processor instead the receiver's? Unless the .1 signal does not work on analog?

At the back of the amp. I used 5 RCA cables from the amp to the pre-outs of the receiver. Then from Oppo's 7.1ch/5.1ch Audio out FL/FR, SL/SR and Center, I used 3 pairs of RCA cables to the receiver's:
MULTI CH input: FRONT L/R, CENTER, SUBWOOFER, SURR L/R, and SURR BACK L/R

This analog multichannel input is for connecting a
component with a 5.1/7.1-channel analog audio output,
such as a DVD player, DVD-Audio or
SACD-capable player, or an MPEG decoder.

Is my understanding correct

I attached the pictures were my systems are in the living room.

Yes they are functiong although when the system is turned off, the green lights are still on. I thought it automatically shuts off when there's no signal?

Your hook up for audio is wrong and most likely the issue - I cannot begin to figure out exactly how or why you hooked it up this way but your understanding is exactly opposite of the reality.

HDMI is the DIGITAL signal, it is also the ONLY way to get high-def audio from the BluRay discs. Using the analog (RCA) outputs of the Oppo uses the player's audio processor and bass management instead of (or on top of) the receiver's.

I have no idea what's happening to the audio signal in your set up. Remove all the RCA cables from the Oppo other than the L/R front for analog playback of CD's on an analog input of your receiver. Connect the HDMI cable from the Oppo to the receiver, and another HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV and select that input for your A/V movie playback.

The lights on the back of the speakers go out about 20-30 minutes after there is no input present.

I suggest (again) you solicit the help of your local dealer to get your system properly setup and configured.
