I purchased a Titon cinema system before either the Triton 1 or Supercenters were available. I have Triton 2's (Invisas 525's as sourrounds and rears). I recently replaced a Sat 50c center with the now available Supercenter XL. You won't go wrong with the Supercenter XL.. it's a great speaker , and really fills in the center channel. If both Triton 1's and Supercenter XL's had been available when I made my purchasing decisions, I would have definitely gone with the Supercenter XL and Triton 1's. I have since auditioned the Triton 1's also, and they area awesome! Great choices for both towers and center!

I just saw this and really don't need to add my 2 cents worth, but that never stopped me before. Ha ha
Mark and Rick have given you some GREAT advice and I think you are well on the way to putting together an awesome home theater!!!!
I have never seen or heard the Triton Ones, not available here yet. Well, even if they were, my wallet is empty. But I have the Triton 2s L and R, (still using a brand X center until the SC X comes to Thailand), but have the Triton 3s as surrounds and T 7s as rear surrounds. All on the floor and pointed at my sitting position. It may not, heck, surely does not sound as good as a Triton One system, but it still sounds really great!
I could not agree more with Mark's statements about putting the surrounds at ear level. I have had them on the ceiling and when the surround sounds were just somebody clinking on a tin can and calling it a bullet or something, that was fine. But now the really good discreet surround channels SOMETIMES have great sound info on them and to me it sounds more natural coming from the sides or behind you. And for concerts, that is by far the more natural location for audience sounds and hall reverb works well there too.
The downside of course is they take up floor space. The advantage is you can put a real, full range speaker there.
Enjoy your setup as it comes together and PLEASE report back to us and let us know how it is coming.
You will have a great time I am sure, you are going with the right speakers.

Thanks so much for chiming in! I really appreciate your input! Sounds like you have a great system as well! It is nice to get some reassurance that I am getting the correct surround/rear speakers going with the T7's. That was the hardest part of putting this together as I was almost certain on the T1's and SC XL for the front portion, but did not know what would work best in the GoldenEar lineup for the rears. As I said, I had not even considered the T7's for the rears until this forum, so this has been a great resource for getting this information. I am grateful to you for solidifying that this is the correct decision.

I will surely keep you guys posted once everything is in and set up. Speakers will take about 2 weeks to get her per the dealer, but I will update this when it is all in and ready to go.

I have Triton 2's up front and Aon 3's in the rear. For movies I have never heard the Sevens but it would seem the Aon 3's would meet the needs because the bulk of the effects are up front.

I am mainly a music person and use my surrounds as just to fill out the soundscape while turning up my mains to take advantage of their better quality.I don't listen to a lot of concert videos or 5 ch. content. I don't need bass in the rear because of the Triton's excellent bass performance plus I have two outboard subs! Wife screaming Turn it down!

The majority of audiophiles don't even go the surround route sticking with traditional 2 channel. My thought from a musician's stand point- live music is in front of you with music in the rear coming from reflections off surfaces.

But maybe Triton 1's in the rear is the way to go-I'm just a drummer for the last 48 years so at least I know what live drums should sound like! Good luck in your quest I'm right behind you thinking of getting Triton 1's for my mains - searching for the Audiophile Holy Grail.

I appreciate your input! I am sure that the Aon 3's are awesome for surrounds. They were actually my first choice when trying to make my decision. I certainly understand your penchant for 2 channel. I am by no means an audiophile! I just enjoy my stereo/home theater. I always have since my first 'system' when I was 18 (a now 23 year old Yamaha system that is still in working order, speakers and all).

I too listen quite often to 2 channel with the receiver set to "Pure Direct" to get the most natural sound possible out of the front speakers. However, I have to admit that my speakers are mainly used as the speakers for the television (the TV speakers are turned off) and for movies. Also, I must admit that I listen to most of my music in "Multi Channel Stereo", which on my receiver means that sound is sent to ALL the speakers when listening (yes, center included). Though it is a far departure from 2 channel pureness, it certainly sounds quite impressive on my current 9.3 channel system. The wife will only listen to her music in this mode, but still screams at me to turn it down as well! You are correct about a live performance though, and that is why 2 channel is simply the best for "pure music" in my opinion.

Yes, most audiophiles would scoff at this, but when speakers pull double duty for music and movies/TV, you will find that the "home theater audiophiles" (vs. "music audiophiles") suggest having all the same speakers for the fronts AND rears for a fully balanced system. This is, of course, very difficult to do for most normal people; being both space and cost prohibitive. I figure that the Triton 7's will give the 'home theater' portion a bit of extra punch. If I could afford it and had the space, I would actually put Triton 2's as both rears and surrounds, but alas, that will have to wait for a winning lottery ticket. I have certainly exceeded the budget as is.

Thanks again for your input and hope you get your Triton 1's soon. Then your T2's can be surrounds/rears to pair with the Aon 3's! Now that would be a very nice home theater set up!
