Has anyone used the Denon Audyssey calibration with GoldenEar spearkers? If so, does anyone have any advice on certain settings I should use/not use?

I ran the Audyssey microphone calibration with 6 listening positions - the only setting I changed was for the SuperSat 50 and 3 to 120Hz (Audyssey suggested 150Hz)

I have my subs set to 10 o'clock, but I find when playing Bluray movies in DTS-HD Master, the lows and highs get really loud in action scenes, but the mid-range is quiet in comparison. For example, a huge explosion will be very loud and powerful as expected, but SFX for a punch in the face in the same scene is quiet. I find myself constantly raising and lowering the volume controls while watching a movie. The living room is large and I have also experimented with different subwoofer volume levels.

My dynamic volume is set to 0Db which is the recommended setting for movies.

My Setup:

- Denon AVR-2312
- 2x Triton Two's (front left/right) ~connected using speaker wire only.
- 1x SuperSat 50c (center)
- 2x SuperSat 3 (rear left/right)

Thanks,

I would suggest disabling/undoing the Audyssey system and setting the system up manually. Sounds to me like it has messed up the sound (which we hear regularly). If you still have the same problem, solicit some local assistance from your GoldenEar dealer.

My Triton II's will FINALLY :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: arrive tomorrow morning. I have a Denon 3808 with the latest Audyssey program.
I will try it both ways, with and without using it. I'm not sure though if speakers that are not broken in will react the same way???

Not sure what the break in period is???

I have a CD with a speaker break in track on it so I'll try that a few times when I leave the house to go to the store.
It's not something you would want to listen to.

Excellent - let the fun begin! You can run Audussey before break-in, but most people go ahead and run it again after 50-100 hours of serious playing time. Judging from what I hear from users, most of the time listeners prefer manual setup and forgo the Audyssey EQ. From my experience, I'd agree with that decision. Enjoy your new speakers.

By the way, The Triton Towers will be powered with my McIntosh MC-7270, which is 270 watts per channel. The Denon only powers my center and surround channels.
