Long story short I tripped into one of my speakers today and have a large chip on the back of my Triton reference.

It looks ugly and my speaker is in a position where I see it all the time. Any easy ways I can repair it? What type of material is used in the Triton reference so I can match it?

Hi Steveo, The Triton Reference's cabinet is constructed of a dense, non-resonant MDF material that's covered with a high gloss black lacquer finish. In terms of touching up a small chip in the gloss black finish, I would consider using black lacquer paint and applying it with a tiny paint brush.

Nice suggestion thank you. Will it work on a chip like this ? It was a decent fall and chip

If so would this suffice?

Do you have the exact colour so I can match it? Feel free to add a product link of the above wouldn't be suitable.

I see many versions of black LP 1, LP 65, x1
Etc

Would be great if I can get the exact colour to match correctly.

Hi Steveo. Sorry for you. I mean that sincerely as I recently had blown tweeters in my T Refs and I lost sleep over it. I can't imagine what you're going through. Unfortunately I cannot offer any advice to help you. I am curious about something though. You mention that the chip is visible in that you see it all the time. Based on the attachment/photo you uploaded, it looks as though the chip is in the rear of the speaker. Assuming you're seated in front of the speakers when listening, how is that visible?

It's near a hallway. So I walk past and see it all the time. If it was in a corner it would be better but I just want to fix it because I know it's there. Know the feeling ?

Sorry to hear about your tweeter. That would be tough to bear
