Hi Mr J,
I guess I call a LOT of stupid people well, er, stupid. And that probably is not right, or at least not very kind of me.
A "swindle" is pretty strong too.
Again, as I have already shared, I have been to three shops where they did not know how to properly demo the T 2s in my case.
And that was before the T Ones, so they were top of the line at that time, though they might well have been trying to sell me more expensive other brand speakers.
I don't think it was a swindle, just stupid of them.
Your case might be different, or maybe not.
I am sure that GEt will look into that dealer and their practices.
Are you sure you cannot go in there and get them to let you listen in a situation where you can choose the electronics being used and music being played, set them up to your liking?
Give it another try, because even if they cannot sell you the Ones, selling a pair of T 2+s is still a pretty good sale.
Hope it works out,
God Bless,
Wayne

Is your dealer in Saginaw? That's the closest to Beaverton ... If not, where do you have this bad experience?

There is no excuse for this, is this the same dealer that you got the original Triton Two+ demo that you felt was unsatisfactory?

Is it possible the speakers were wired out of phase?

Thanks to the support people. We have emailed off the forum and they are very interested and have looked into it.

I did audition T2+ at a different store. They sounded much better.

Funny thing....

The second store used an extremely poor sounding amp, lots of background buzz.

Listened to the T2+.... muddy.
Listened to the T1.... muddy.
Then, while hooked to the T1, switched amps... very good.

Tricks. The brain remembers the more expensive speaker sounding much better than the less expensive.

In the end, I did go back and hear the T2+ on a decent amp... sounded good.

It is good that Goldenear encourages audition at home.

The dealer in my area (ListenUp Colorado) has demo rooms where you can cycle various amps through various speakers (and turn subs on/off at will). This helps so that you can get an idea of how well the GEt speakers perform with budget AVRs or reference level separates.

While I've never heard a speaker with buzz or interference, I have noticed differences with equipment choices (and power output). Disappointing to read about your experiences as when the T2's are hooked up to just a basic, but capeable AVR, they sound fantastic.

Perhaps there is a forum member who lives in your area who would be willing to invite you in for a short listen. Sounds like it would be a better audition than what your getting from your local dealers.
Triton Two front L/R
SuperSat 50c center
Triton Seven surround L/R
SuperSat 50 surround rear L/R
AVR Arcam AVR-21
Amp Marantz mm7025
Velodyne optimum 10” sealed, back left corner
SuperSub X front-right corner
