Hey jobyfam,

I have the previous gen Peachtree (Nova 220SE). Was surprised to see them moving away from tube buffers although they justify it in their writeup on why they moved to this new generation (better signal to noise ratio going all digital). But I love having a bit of tube in my playback and it sounds awesome. You might be able to find one used if you are interested.
This integrated is 220 watts per channel and I've never gotten the nob past half-way (and I like to listen to my hard rock loud :-). But I like classical, jazz, acoustic rock as well as my heavy metal and they all sound great.
2 channel -> GeT Ones.R, Rogue RP-7 pre, Kinki Studio B7 Monoblock amps fed by Oppo 105D, SonicTransport, OpticalRendu w/ 200,000 tracks, Rega RP8 w/ Garrott OPTIM S3 FGS Ruby + Sutherland 20/20 phono pre, PS Audio Powerplant 20
HT -> Marantz 7703, Butler Audio T5150 amp, GeT Ref mains

Halfway!!?? :-)

I've only been to 10 o'clock once on a low volume recording. Usually max out at 9 o'clock with my 220se.

Nice to see another Triton/220se customer here. Triton One's?

I've driven my T1's with a 125se with no issues, so I have no doubt the new Nova 150 will sound great. Always nice to have that extra power in reserve though :-)

The DARKO review said the 150 sounded different (for the better) to the 125 and 125se - looking forward to hearing the new range to hear the differences.

I just added a Bluesound Node 2 to my system. Sensational for streaming your collection.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I'm looking forward to hearing both the 150 and the 300. I'm sure the 150 will be more than adequate with the triton 5's but as I'm in no rush I'll wait for the 300 release before deciding. I guess the passive triton 5's would / or would not need a more powerful amp to drive them well than the powered tritons???

Hi, jobyfam

Since the T5's have three drivers needing external amp power (2 6" mid/bass drivers and a HVFR), and the powered Tritons have also three passive drivers (in the case of the T1's, 2 5.25" mid/bass drivers and a HVFR), I would guess that they all have pretty similar power draw needs from an external amp. And since they are also power efficient, their power draw needs would be well met by the any of the amps you are considering. I think it becomes more a question of which amp sounds best to you powering those speakers, rather than comparing watts. GEt speakers do not draw lots of watts, but they do love quality inputs. My recommendation is listen to the options you have chosen, and decide based on what sounds best to you, regardless of watt ratings.

Happy listening!

Rick.

Hi...i am a new user here. As per my knowledge besides additional power, there appears to be some differences between the units. Upgrading to the 300 SHOULD provide benefit but I'd recommend an audition of both to decide for yourself. Does your local GET dealer carry Peachtree Audio? Best to be patient and audition both with the T5s to be certain.

I have the Nova SE220 powering my Triton 2’s and couldn’t be happier! The imaging and dynamic range are unbelievable! I had the original Nova 80 with Aon3’s and I was very happy, then I upgraded to the Nova SE220 and I was blown away with how much I’d been missing. Then recently I came across these Triton 2’s and I’m so happy! Good luck, I’d go with the 300 if I were you!
