The powered sub on one of my Triton 2's died - I guess it is not an unusual occurrence. Will cost me a lot - died 6 mos after warranty, now close to a year. The room they're in is not huge, and I have a 12" Paradigm sub in the room. The question: How much sound-wise am I missing?

If you're the original purchaser, just call your dealer with the serial number and a description of the problem and they will get you fixed up under warranty (at least the parts exchange) even if it has expired.

And no, it is not a usual occurrence and all of us here will try not to be insulted by your comment while we enjoy our GoldenEar speakers

Its not unusual for people with no problems to never post on internet forums. My mother always told me you get more flies with honey than vinegar. Sounds like GEt is willing to take care if it regardless. As I would say to my kids [cough thanks cough].

Yeah alparkranger,
This almost NEVER happens, which is why GoldenEar can be so very kind to honor your warranty even though it is out of date.
I have T 2s and NO problems for years and they are wonderful speakers!!!
Good for you.
New Attitude time!!!
God Bless,
Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.

Alparkranger,

Internet/forum trolls also have a way of misleading us. I have no doubts that other forums have probably created a perception that active speakers are unreliable and you could find threads talking down every model of every brand. It's an easy trap to fall into and I'll admit I've been a victim of trolls before. I certainly wouldn't judge anyone too harshly if the same happened to them. At the end of the day, what really matters is that GET is standing behind their products even after the warranty period. Let's hear the trolls twist that one.

I also have a Paradigm sub, but for music, it's really no match for the Triton towers. It has plenty of power, but the Triton's tone is much more rich, musical, and tonally accurate. I hear differences in low frequency music in the Triton's that I have not heard in my previous Paradigm Monitor Series setup. It is definitely worth getting them fixed!

Cheers,

T Cobe

You guys sound like a pack of wolves. If Alphakranger doesn't say "thanks" what are going to do, hang him, burn him at the stake? Give the guy a break, I feel his frustration.
