Still haven't done the setup yet but i had one for thing i want some advice on.

So i have the t2's for fronts and t7's from rear and XL for center. That give me 5.1 but i was thinking of doing 7.1. what would you guys recommend for surround right and left speakers? would it be good idea just to buy the supersat 3's? or possible to use another brand bipole speakers (got deftech) for now till have budget for aon or supersat? Please advice.

Amit,

You certainly have a lot of choices. My first advice would be to stay with GET and decide from there which model best suits your needs. You may be better off with the T7s as your surrounds and going with something else in the rear surround position. Rear surrounds get far less info/sound sent to them. I find that most of my time in my theater is 5.1.

I have a pair of bipolar surrounds in place in my system now and they do tend to stand out a bit compared to my GET speakers. I have been delaying my surround purchase as well trying to decide which speaker would be best. With you setup, another pair of T7s would be very nice. They would match your rear surrounds and SCXL extremely well. If space or cost is an issue, a pair of SuprSats or Aons would also sound great.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Hey Amit,
+1 to all T. Cobe said.
Lots of choices and nearly all of them are good.
Dipolar speakers USED to be recommended for surrounds, but now in the day of full range descrete signals being sent to the surrounds, dipolars are not the way to go any more.
And an ALL GEt system really is smooth, seamless and the way to go.
I have T 2s in the front, with a SC X then T 3s as surrounds, with T 7s as the rear surrounds and it is GREAT!!!!!!
All the best as you put this together.
You can definitely use lesser speakers for awhile until you save up for the ones you really want.
Happy Listening, God Bless,
Wayne

For clarity, going from 5.1 to 7.1 adds REARS, not Surrounds. In most pre-Atmos mixes, the surrounds (in the 5.1 speakers setup) are the primary surround channels. SuperSat 3's are the most popular for surrounds and rears given their size and on-wall mounting. Some prefer more full range, in which case larger SuperSats, Aons, or Invisa in-walls. Bipoles are 1980's surround technology and have no place in a modern home theater setup. In addition, their lack of directionality would make them an especially bad choice in an Atmos setup.
