I have looked over the site and have not noticed any information on the specifications of the tweeter height. Perhaps someone from GE could answer for the Triton five.
Thanks!

Eric,
I too have been eagerly waiting for more information on the Triton Fives. Home Theater Review had the best write up in terms of specs and improvements over the Seven. Many of the physical specs are similar to the Threes (height, weight, efficiency) but I suspect that they will sound VERY different. Since they will be hitting dealers within the next 30 to 60 days, I was hoping for a little more information on the forum from Golden Ear. Hopefully the Moderator is cooking up something good for us while we eagerly wait for GEs latest masterpiece! Thanks for starting the ball rolling.
Cheers,
T Cobe

Other than the tweeter heights, I am very interested in the acoustic mid range delta between the seven and fives. I have 2 PB-2000 which I plan on crossing at 40 - 60. The highs, I assume will be identical due to the same tweeter.
The other thing to consider is the seven has more WAF due to its diminutive stature.
side note:
I have older BA VR M60 for the fronts and a VR 12 center. Am I going to be floored by GE? I hope so.

Eric,
Have you been able to audition the Tritons? They do sound amazing. There is no beating the HVFR, in my opinion, anywhere near the price of any of GEs offerings. Hands down, they are the best value. I have also found that due to their color in my theater, they completely blend in. Certainly appearance is subjective. Though tall, their foot print is actually quite small.
The biggest WAF for me is the $5k price for the T1s. It's not a big deal to spend $5k on several smaller purchases, but the big expenses are an issue... My speculation is that two T5s with outboard subs will sound fantastic and offer a lot of flexibility. The two 6" speakers in the 5s are from the Aons and they sound fantastic with one! For $1k each, I'll be surprised if anything comes near its sound! Combined with the SB 2000, you should have something pretty special. Only a month or so to wait until they are supposed to be hitting the dealers.
Please check back in when you pull the trigger. Good luck!
Cheers,
T Cobe

I was at my local GET dealer today to measure tweeter height and to replicate the layout in my theater to have another critical listen. I'm embarrassed to admit that this was in part due to the comments of an internet troll regarding the vertical dispersion of the HVFR tweeter on the T1s. Of course, I'm glad for any excuse to have another listen to the T1s, but I wouldn't be surprised if my local dealer starts discussing charging me rent the next time I'm there...
Anyway, here are the tweeter measurements:
T7- approx 32" from floor to center of tweeter
T2- approx 39&3/4"
T1- approx 40&1/4"
So roughly 40" for the T1&2 and 32" for the T7. Interesting that there is that much difference between the 1s/2s and the 7s. In all my readings, I have never heard whether there are any differences in the HVFR tweeters from model to model. There pretty clear in the product literature regarding the differences in the mid-range drivers. Maybe the Moderator can enlighten us if all the HVFRs are identical.
I'm not sure how the tweeter height will shake out on the Five but I'm happy to report that I didn't hear any vertical dispersion issues. Trolls really are funny little creatures. They can read a glowing review that sings the praises of a stellar product and then quibble over a 5 degree vertical dispersion; ignoring everything else. Probably just as silly for me to give the comments consideration...

Yes, all the Tritons use basically the same HVFR tweeter. Regarding height, remember the Seven has a rearward rake angle that the other models do not, effective listening distance height is pretty much the same.
