Hey folks,

Should I sell my SVS ultra 13 sub?, or will I stIll need it with my Triton ones for movies.

Just wondering if the towers will supply enough low end for movies on their own (explosions, etc)

Any thoughts?

Since no one on this forum (other than me and GoldenEar's Dave) has ever heard the Triton Ones (unless they were at CES in January, and if so, speak up) I figured I'd better answer.

Since you already own those subs, you might as well keep them until you are sure you are satisfied with the bass capabilities of the Triton Ones on their own in your room. I can tell you that the Ones had a spectacular amount of quality bass energy. Low, loud, effortless and extremely musical, in a fairly large, open room. On music only. Since I have heard many Triton Two theaters without subs that had oodles of bass, I certainly believe the Ones will just be that much more so.

Now, that said, using additional subs for the LFE track, IF they can keep up with the Triton Ones in output and extension, will certainly give the entire system more dynamics and a higher possible playing ceiling. (That "IF", by the way, is a pretty big deal, you'd need at least two ForceField 5's to effectively augment the Triton Ones by handling the LFE track.)

Was think about selling the SVS gear and then getting a better amp before the 1s arrive.
Still undecided between
1) Peachtree 125 or
2) 220/nova pre
3) Rogue Spynx
4) rogue Cronus Magnum

Tough call.....
