Greetings,

Quick question on the Triton 7.

1. Will the characteristic of the seven change significantly with break in? I know that 'significan't is a subjective term - how much is significant? But overall, does break in provide substantive change between 10 hours and say, 150 hours?

2. Does break in need to be at relatively healthy volume? If so, what db 1 meter away?

3. After break in, what changes can one hear from the:
a. Tweeter?
b. 5" drivers?
c. Are the changes more for the woofer than the tweeter?

Thanks,
UL

Most of the changes occur in the first 50 hours of playing time. The louder they are played, the more/quicker they will change. Most people say the sound gets fuller, bass goes deeper and mids and highs are smoother and more extended and airy. (Some say nothing happens, but they're all probably engineers.) Maybe some owners could share their experiences here with you... guys?

Thanks. Love to hear other comments. I have a reason for asking as I am picking between the Seven and the KEF LS50. Have both currently....and there's some things I find quite challenging about the sevens that gives me fatigue after a while even with a 'smooth' tube amp using EL34 tubes. Not sure if this is the forum to raise the challenges I'm encountering so figure I'd just ask about the result of proper break in.

Thanks,
UL

Challenging? Fatigue? From the Triton Sevens, with a tube amp? Wow, unheard of... unless you are overdriving (clipping) the amp, which is certainly possible on full range material if it is a low power amp (under 50w). Otherwise, makes no sense to me. Ask your dealer for some assistance/suggestions.

Greetings Moderator,

I posted a long follow-up here yesterday asking for insight on the Seven. Was it deleted or did my post not go through? I have no problem with the deletion as I wrote at the beginning of that long post. But would like to know - if it was not deleted, I will repost. If it was deleted, I won't.

Thanks!

Hi UL,

Sorry, no idea. I seem to remember approving a long post from you recently, but when I look for it I find the last post from you as 3 days ago. Could be the system had a hiccup and it vanished - can you re-post?

BTW, unless its something disrespectful or grossly irrelevant, pretty much anything goes here. I am the anti-censor, I don't think I have deleted anyone's post ... yet. Couple of Anthem's jokes came close...

JUST KIDDING - can't you take a joke Anthem? :)
