Anyone here running their Triton 2s or 3s with tube amplification? I would be very interested in your suggestions, comments, feedback, reviews of your experiences.
Anybody tried a tube/solid state hybrid like the Vincent ST-100 monoblocks?
I am looking for sweet mids, tube-like soundstage, the performer right there in the room with you. And yet I expect the powered subs to be able to carry off the bass without too much of the drawback tubes normally have in this area. Is this anyone's experience?
How much tube power for the Triton 2s? For the Triton 3s? I listen to lots of different kinds of music, but if it can't rock, then that is a no-go. Listening rooms (2) medium & large.
Any thoughts?
Thanks and best regards,
Wayne

I'll let the members giver some feedback for specific products, but I can tell you Sandy drives his Tritons with a tube amp. They sound glorious on tubes - no tubby bottom either thanks to the powered bottom on the Tritons. Anything over 50 watts will do a good job and I know there are people happily listening to them with very low power SET amps too.

Well Moderator Dude,
I hope you have a day job, other than moderating this forum. I think it is just you and me, man!!!!
Like I said, I think everybody is happy listening to music on their GE systems and don't need us for entertainment any more.
And IF and WHEN I ever get my Tritons, I will probably do the same, leave you on your own!!!!!
But in the meantime, thanks for your answers.
Wish others would chime in with advise.
All the best,
Wayne

But you, Moderator Dude, are the constant here. Which is a good thing. Meaning, you are doing a great job!!!!
I read some of the questions and comments here and think about responding, writing something to help. And often I ALMOST do. Then I realize that you are going to respond and and give good, sound, sensible advice. And they will listen to you because we are all convinced you are Sandy's right hand man!!!!
Indeed, the What Would Sandy Do? syndrome.
And every time you write and answer, you save me the trouble, you tell them pretty much exactly what I would have said. And in a good way.
Keep up the good work.
Wayne
