Thnx Rick

Good to know that up-mixing is that good given there are not that many ATMOS encoded discs at this time.
The challenge for me is my tech room is not in the HT so I will be fishing speaker cable above the ceiling from a different room. Speaker cable is not due here until Wednesday so in the mean time I am planning the best cable path to the HT ceiling.

More to come
Cheers!

Yes let us know what you think of the Gen 3 XPA5. I do hope the XPA5 has a similar sound profile to the Gen 1 XPA5 in the event I grow my Atmos setup from 2 to 4 channels. Alternatively I could just get another 2 channel Marantz 7025. I will l make that decision once I have a chance to evaluate my 2 channel Atmos setup. Should be installed hopefully this week.

I will cut the holes in the drywall for HTR 7000's tomorrow when I have some time. Speakers cable expected by Friday. Hope to have Atmos up & running by Friday or Saturday. Already started reviewing by BD's to see what Atmos encoded discs I have.

Hey, Dwight

When you get the height channels set up, it's worth also trying some music Blu-rays. I love what those extra channels do to expand the "music envelope" also. Even 2 channel CD stuff played via your OPPO up mixed in Dolby surround may be worth trying.

Have fun experimenting!

My new American made XPA-5 will be ready for pick up Monday morning. I should be able to swap it out and post some initial impressions that afternoon or early evening.

I'll be watching movies, roasting coffee, and listening to music all day. It's even supposed to get up to 37 little degrees Monday! That's a heat wave of 30 degrees over where we are this morning.

Cheers,

T Cobe
