What would you like to know?

I master everything from techno to metal to gospel, folk, whatever.
All formats CD, Vinyl, pure digital, even cassette (weirdly cassette has made a comeback the last couple of years).

Amps and speakers you know.
Cable is all studio grade, I'm an angineer not an audiophile, so i deal with the objective and not the subjective, so there's no jazz cables, ceramic cable lifters, weird crystals or any other woo in the studio.
ADDA is focusrite rednet2
Monitor controll is via TC electronic BCM2 linked in via SPDIF

I use a combination of inboard and outboard equipment.
Hi spec custom PC i7 with silent everything
Some external gear
Shadow hills mastering compressor
Thermionic culture vulture mastering edition
SPL mixdream
studer G36
Studer b77 mk2
Mankey massive passive
Focusrite red2

I generally work at 70db (measured from listening position) and 82db (when testing integrity for music with loud destinations)

SVoidloss,
VERY interesting stuff and it is so great to have you here on the forum sharing with us.
I had an older version of that Quad amp in the past, never played it with the Tritons, but have a KT 88 amp Triode TRV 88SE.
I found the side firing bass panels impinged on the tubes and caused some distortion in my system, I could not get them far enough
away from the Tritons.
God Bless,
Wayne

I`ve actually moved the valve amps out of the studio now.
I`m sticking with the Quad, it gives me a very straight and clean sound, untainted, and it is handling dynamics to a finer degree than the stepping on my compressors can define, and my ears aren`t hankering for more transient information, so I would say I am getting a very very accurate sound at the listening point. It is certainly correlating with my metering.

Valves sound sweet, but they are alive and obviously change over time and eventually need replacing. I`ve decided I don`t want to be dealing with that in a critical environment.

Great for listening in the living room, curling up with a book and a whisky, where the change and the sweetening can flatter the sound, but not so much good in the mastering studio.

I guess I was being a little bit flashy having those amps in there really. Great for the clients to look at though.

I also have a pair of Triton 2's. I have never heard of them used for mastering. For Studio Monitors I have a set of Focal Twin 6B's with a single SVS SB-Ultra filling in the lows.

If you have heard the Focals how do you think they compare?

How far back is your listening position?
So much music-so little time!

The focal are a great monitor. I've used some in a production room. They make a great mid to high end near field. But I wouldn't want to master with them. Especially not having to go through the hassle of trying to match and tune a sub.
Listening position in my room is 2.5 meters from the tritons.
