Hi All,
I've really enjoyed all the discussion, hints, and opinions on the forum so I decided to join in. I especially enjoy the pictures because I'm a pictures kind of guy. So, I decided to upload some pictures of my very humble living room based system.
I love the GE product lines and am extremely impressed by the sound. I also upgraded from the XL to the XXL and was blown away by the difference. I have been a long time audiophile and listen to mostly two channel music but can certainly enjoy a great surround experience. For the price-performance ratio it amazes me what a GE system can sound like, and an 11 channel system is actually affordable!
Here are the details:
Speakers:
TT1 front
XXL center
ss3 heights, wides, rear
ss50c surround
Velodyne SPL Series II subwoofer
Electronics:
Logitech Transporter
Marantz UD5005 Player
Marantz 8802A PrePro
Project TT (can't remember the model)
Krell S150m (fronts)
Marantz MM7055 for surrounds channels and center
Other miscellaneous items
Questions or comments are welcome.
Happy listening!
Jim

Jim,
Thanks for joining in and sharing your room with us. I bet that room sounds amazing with all of those speakers and supporting electronics! Great job on the install, I bet it took a LONG time to run all those wires!!!
What speaker cables are you using on your Triton 1s? What other cables do you have run? XLRs or RCAs to the front amp? I look forward to hearing more.
Cheers,
T Cobe

Thanks for the kind words. You are right, it has taken me many weekends to get everything the way I wanted it. I am a bit OCD when it comes to cabling.
I have a 25 ft Nordost Tyr XLR run to the front amps and Nordost Tyr speaker cable to the TT1s. The rest of my surround interconnect is RCAs with a mix of Nordost Red Dawn, Blue Heaven, and some AudioQuest Silver. Interconnect between my source and PrePro is AudioQuest Columbia. My surround speaker cabling is a mix of AudioQuest for the shorter runs and Monoprice cabling for the long runs.
I certainly have no interest in starting a religious discussion about cabling but with a high resolution system, I believe it makes a difference and I have been quite happy with the results. Just my humble opinion.
Happy listening!

Great set up, Jim. Sounds like a great use of cables. I like Nordost and AudioQuest. No debate here from me. I thought I recognized those ribbon cables.
BTW, I don't use the term OCD. I prefer meticulous or attention to detail. You've done a great job! Like many of us here, I can tell it's a labor of love. You should definitely be proud of the set up you have. I look forward to hearing more. Any plans for future upgrades? Atmos? How do you like the 2-channel sound on your 8802A?
Cheers,
T Cobe
