Just received my Triton 7's. Still in the break-in period. Wondering what the lowest recommended power is for amps for the 7's. Currently running solid state, dedicated 2 channel only with a pretty conservative 120 wpc. Thinking about dipping my toes in the tube waters or upgrading the quality of the SS amp, but don't want to break the bank.

Demo'd both SS and tube at the shop, but it was relatively pricy equipment (1.5x -3x the cost of the 7's)

Room is 25' x 20', 8' ceilings. Low to moderate listening levels, strictly 2 channel music. Not looking to rattle the windows.

Trying to get an idea of where I should be with min watts to research and plan demos. Also any suggestions on either tube or SS amps in the $500 range would be greatly appreciated.

It's doubtful you will find a tube amp for 500.00 unless it is very old.
Technics SL1200G TT with ZU DL103,, McIntosh c2500 all tube Preamp, Sony HAP-Z1ES Music Server, Esoteric UX-3 CD/SACD Player, McIntosh MR88 FM HD Tuner, McIntosh MC302 300wpc amp, GE Triton Reference Speakers, Shunyata Hydra's Power Conditioners & Power Cords, + more.

Min depends on application, but generally about 20 watts will get you going, 50 is better, 100+ if you want to play them full range and rock n' roll.

When I first got the Triton Ones, I tried them in my upstairs office system which uses a Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum with KT120 output tubes. The amp is 100wpc. It sounded really good, but it sounds much better with my Odyssey Stratos Extreme+++ Amp and Audible Illusions Modulus 3B tube Preamp.

The Rogue amp comes up on Audiogon (I bought mine there) for between 1500.00-1800.00 quite often. Hope this helps.
