Another question for you: my room is 12x12x8 and has always favored the right side of the room for the 3d sort of effects where the sounds eminate from outside of the Triton (or whatever speaker I've had). This side of the room is enclosed. The left side of the room has a doorway (that is open) that the left channel sits next to. I have had to move the left channel forward a foot or two to balance the channels. The voice is dead center this way, but the sounds always eminate directly from the speaker (regardless of it's position) and not out side of it like the right channel with the wall. I assume that it is the wall/boundary causing this. I can install a door next to the left channel if necessary to fix this issue. After living with my audio gear in this room for a decade I *think* it is the room causing this. What do you recommend to get more of the spacial 3d sort of imaging out of the left channel? Thank you.

All of these questions are directed to the moderator btw.

Also, without an external crossover from the Tritons to the external subs, I'm assuming 40 hertz is the best option? Is another crossover on the sub possible playing along with the Tritons? I have the sub eq (ASEQ1)equalizing the SVS subs and they are in phase with the Tritons. Thanks.

Dm wrote: Hello, a question for you. I have recalibrated my Triton's with the sub level at 2 o'clock and my crossover to my external subs at 40 hertz. In your professional opinion, is this a good crossover point for the external subs? Thanks.

Depends on what we are trying to accomplish. A crossover of 60Hz will allow for a higher playing ceiling (not sure why you would need that, but hey, who knows?). For simply improving extension and bottom end dynamics at high volume, 40Hz is perfect. I assume you have subs that have significant 20Hz response and can therefore actually extend the overall system response.

Ah, Tritons are Full Range plus sub? Then no, 40Hz is probably too high, try 30Hz. My Triton Twos are room flat to below 25Hz (in my room), adding in a sub at 40Hz and below is going to give you too much gain in the 30-80Hz range (unless you like that, in which case, that's perfect).

I'm trying to get low end reinforcement and blend them with the Trtions. 40hz seems to not interfere with the Tritons or muddy the sound. The subs are dual stereo SVS PB12 Pluses btw. The 2 o'clock mention of the position on the Triton sub was to confirm that they are not being pushed too hard. I hear no stress from them when listening. I am near field so I don't think they are being pushed too hard.

40 is the lowest crossover on the PB12s so I'm stuck with that. I like the low end reinforcment but I believe the ASEQ1 equalizer has it flat to 20hz on the PB12s.
